MAG-7 | Heat

MAG-7 | Heat is a CS2 shotgun skin for the Counter-Terrorist side, featuring a forge-inspired Custom Paint Job. Dark charcoal surfaces contrast with orange, red, and yellow accents around the weapon's edges. Its fiery detailing suits players who prefer bright highlights over a dark base. All exterior categories are available, alongside StatTrak™ and Souvenir versions.

Description

MAG-7 | Heat brings a heated-metal appearance to a Counter-Terrorist shotgun in CS2. The weapon is built around heavy close-range damage, making its role distinct from longer-range weapons. Magazine-style reloads are another defining feature of the underlying MAG-7. The Heat finish translates its forge-inspired theme into painted color rather than changing the weapon's function. Charcoal panels give the bright edge accents a dark background across the receiver, fore-end, and grip. The pattern follows contours and recessed details, keeping the design closely tied to the shotgun's shape. It suits players building a dark loadout with warm color accents rather than broad, brightly painted surfaces. Buyers can compare exterior, float value, and version to choose a copy that matches their cosmetic preferences.

History and Origin

The skin debuted in CS:GO on April 15, 2015, alongside the Chroma 2 Case. Its release formed part of the "Chroma 2 Case Skins" update. Steam Workshop community designer joop created the finish. It belongs to The Chroma 2 Collection, linking its collection identity to that original case release. Valve retired the rare drop pool on December 17, 2025, and the Chroma 2 Case no longer drops. Existing cases can still be bought on the market and opened, preserving the original acquisition route without fresh case drops. Today, direct market purchases and player trades offer alternatives to opening a case for a random result. Trade Up Contracts also provide a collection-based route, using eligible Mil-Spec Grade skins for a chance at this Restricted finish.

Finish Style

Heat uses a Custom Paint Job to suggest metal fresh from a forge. Dark charcoal gray covers most of the receiver, fore-end, and pistol grip. Orange, red, and yellow lines trace edges and seams instead of filling every surface. The muzzle and barrel collar carry orange-yellow rings against darker surrounding areas. Irregular fiery patches spread across the front of the receiver and continue down the grip. The magazine combines a dark center with reddish-orange sides, extending the palette below the main body. Small vents, inset panels, and raised details retain dark interiors within their bright outlines. A fine speckled texture adds detail to the busy, heat-like pattern, with the strongest color concentrated around the weapon's contours.

Float Value

The MAG-7 | Heat float range runs from 0.00 to 1.00. Available exteriors are Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, and Battle-Scarred. StatTrak™ and Souvenir versions also exist, but these version labels are separate from the float value and exterior describing cosmetic condition.

Rarity and Popularity

MAG-7 | Heat has Restricted rarity within The Chroma 2 Collection. Opening the Chroma 2 Case gives a 4.0% chance of receiving this skin. Professional owners include coldzera, FalleN, and tarik, providing documented ownership without establishing how often the skin sells or trades.

Why it’s Popular:

• Fiery outlines contrast clearly with the charcoal body

• Forge-inspired detailing follows the shotgun's contours

• Available across every exterior category

• StatTrak™ and Souvenir options broaden version choices

Price Range

The live MAG-7 | Heat price range is $1.02 to $27.80. These bounds cover the whole skin rather than a particular exterior or version. For a useful CS2 skin price comparison, separate standard, StatTrak, and Souvenir listings before comparing individual copies. Check the exact float value alongside the exterior label, since the label alone does not identify that value. Buyers and sellers should use current listing details rather than assume every copy with the same finish has an identical price.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open the Chroma 2 Case

Open the Chroma 2 Case for a 4.0% chance of receiving Heat. The case no longer drops, but existing cases remain available to buy on the market and open.

3. Trade Up Contracts

A Trade Up Contract can exchange 10 Mil-Spec Grade skins from The Chroma 2 Collection for 1 Restricted skin from that collection. The result is random among its Restricted skins, so Heat is possible rather than assured.

4. Buy on the Steam Community Market

Buy MAG-7 | Heat directly on the Steam Community Market instead of relying on a random case or contract result. Check the listing's exterior and version, then compare its float value where available.

5. Trade with Other Players

Player-to-player trading offers another route to obtain the skin through an exchange with another owner. Before agreeing to a trade, confirm the exact version, exterior, and float against the copy being offered.

Trading and Investment Considerations

Retirement prevents new Chroma 2 Case drops, although existing cases and Trade Up Contracts can still produce additional Heat copies. Professional ownership supports its visibility, but trading volume and a sustained price trend are not established. Compare exterior, float, and version when deciding whether to buy, sell, or trade.

Reasons it Holds Value

• Retired case supply receives no fresh drops

• Documented ownership by coldzera, FalleN, and tarik

• Distinctive forge-inspired finish by joop

• Standard, StatTrak™ and Souvenir version choices

The investment rating is medium, balancing retired case supply and professional ownership against uncertain resale demand. Existing cases and trade-up contracts can add copies, so case retirement does not make the skin's supply fixed. This is an editorial opinion, not financial advice, and there is no established price-growth trend to support a return expectation.
