SCAR-20 | Powercore

SCAR-20 | Powercore is a CS2 skin for the Counter-Terrorist semi-automatic sniper rifle. Its dark green body, yellow accents, and small technical markings create a clean industrial look. The finish suits players who prefer geometric color blocking over large decorative artwork. Every exterior is available, alongside standard, StatTrak™, and Souvenir versions.

Description

SCAR-20 | Powercore gives the Counter-Terrorist sniper rifle a green-and-yellow equipment-inspired finish in CS2. The weapon combines rapid semi-automatic fire with powerful damage at long distances. Its slower movement and expensive in-match purchase contrast with that long-distance firepower. Powercore places dark green paint beside yellow accents, keeping the rifle's mechanical components visually distinct. The Gunsmith finish uses geometric blocks and inset panels rather than a large illustration. A small label on the rear receiver adds a checkout-code detail to the otherwise restrained design. This look suits players building an industrial-themed loadout or choosing a rifle with clearly defined color accents. Buyers can compare exterior, float value, and standard, StatTrak™, or Souvenir versions rather than judging a listing by its finish name alone.

History and Origin

SCAR-20 | Powercore entered CS:GO on August 18, 2016, alongside the Gamma 2 Case. Its release belonged to the Gamma 2 Case Skins update, placing the finish within that case's original lineup. Endrit created the design as a Steam Workshop community designer. The skin belongs to The Gamma 2 Collection, which also provides its collection-based trade-up route. Valve retired the rare drop pool on December 17, 2025, ending new Gamma 2 Case drops. As of October 9, 2026, the case remained outside the drop system. That retirement concerns fresh cases, not the ability to open existing ones bought on the market. Today, players can obtain the finish through those openings, eligible trade-up contracts, direct marketplace purchases, or player-to-player trades.

Finish Style

The Powercore Gunsmith finish builds its industrial character around green paint, yellow trim, and dark mechanical parts. Dark green covers most of the receiver and stock, interrupted by lighter green, block-shaped patches. Black inset panels break up those painted areas while preserving the clean, geometric layout. Yellow outlines on the stock, scope fittings, and barrel bands emphasize the rifle's separate components. Matching yellow accents continue along the lower rail and magazine base. The barrel and scope stay dark gray to black, while the pistol grip uses dark gray. A gray magazine carries a patterned side panel, adding texture beneath the green body. The rear receiver's small checkout-code label combines barcode-like lines with compact colored lettering rather than large artwork.

Float Value

The float value of SCAR-20 | Powercore runs from 0.00 to 1.00. Available exteriors are Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, and Battle-Scarred, so the finish has no missing exterior tier. Standard, StatTrak™, and Souvenir versions are available; those version labels are separate from exterior condition and should be checked independently when comparing listings.

Rarity and Popularity

SCAR-20 | Powercore has the Restricted rarity grade within The Gamma 2 Collection. The chance of obtaining it from a Gamma 2 Case opening is 3.2%, making case purchases an uncertain route to this specific finish. Professional players coldzera, kennyS, and s1mple have owned the skin, but that ownership does not establish a current demand trend.

Why it’s Popular:

• Green-and-yellow color blocking gives the rifle a clear industrial identity

• Small labels and patterned panels reward a closer look

• All exterior tiers support different condition preferences

• StatTrak™ and Souvenir versions offer alternatives to the standard finish

Price Range

The live SCAR-20 | Powercore CS2 skin price range is $0.94 to $14.07. These bounds cover the whole item rather than a particular exterior or version. Compare Factory New through Battle-Scarred listings by their actual float value, not just the exterior label. Standard, StatTrak™, and Souvenir copies are separate options, so the version deserves attention alongside the asking price. Inspect each listing's item details and appearance before deciding which copy to buy, sell, or trade.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open the Gamma 2 Case

Buy an existing Gamma 2 Case and open it for a chance at Powercore. No new cases drop, but cases already in circulation can still be opened. The skin's opening chance is 3.2%, so this route does not guarantee the chosen finish.

3. Trade Up Contracts

A Trade Up Contract uses 10 Mil-Spec Grade skins from The Gamma 2 Collection to produce 1 Restricted skin from that collection. Powercore is a possible result, not a guaranteed one. The outcome is random among the collection's Restricted skins.

4. Buy on the Steam Community Market

Buy SCAR-20 | Powercore directly from a listing on the Steam Community Market rather than relying on a case outcome. Check the exterior, float, and version attached to the specific listing before purchasing.

5. Trade with Other Players

Player-to-player trades offer a way to exchange existing items for this finish. Confirm that the offered copy matches the intended exterior and version, and check its float before accepting.

Trading and Investment Considerations

Retirement of the Gamma 2 Case drop source restricts fresh case supply, though existing openings and trade-up contracts can still create Powercore copies. Professional ownership offers visibility, but future demand and resale activity remain uncertain. Compare the exact exterior, float, and version when evaluating a listing, rather than assuming all copies share the same resale prospects.

Reasons it Holds Value

• No new Gamma 2 Case drops

• Documented ownership by professional players

• Distinctive green-and-yellow industrial design

• StatTrak™ and Souvenir options support collector choice

The editorial investment rating is medium for SCAR-20 | Powercore. Its modest entry price, documented professional ownership, and retired case source offer reasons to consider holding a preferred copy. The main risk is uncertain resale demand, while trade-ups and remaining cases can continue adding skins without any promise of returns.
