SCAR-20 | Cyrex

The SCAR-20 | Cyrex is a CS2 skin for the Counter-Terrorist semi-automatic sniper rifle. Its dark body combines white panels, thin red lines, and angular technical markings. The restrained color scheme suits players building black-and-red loadouts. All exterior grades are available, alongside StatTrak™ and Souvenir versions.

Description

The SCAR-20 | Cyrex is a Classified CS2 rifle skin with a high-tech, contrasting finish. Its weapon combines rapid follow-up fire and strong long-distance damage with slower movement and a substantial in-game purchase cost. The Custom Paint Job gives the rifle a coordinated black, white, and red identity. White panels break up the dark receiver, while narrow red accents connect details across the stock and scope. This look suits players who prefer precise geometric styling over an entirely bright weapon. Documented ownership includes Xyp9x, Skadoodle, and Xizt, giving the skin professional-player connections without proving broad market demand. Standard, StatTrak, and Souvenir versions provide different collecting options within the same design. Before a buy, sell, or trade decision, compare the exact exterior, float value, version, and listing price.

History and Origin

SCAR-20 | Cyrex was released in CS:GO on May 1, 2014. It arrived with the Huntsman Weapon Case through the Huntsman Case Skins update. Steam Workshop community designer Nextgenz created the finish, establishing its community-made origin. The skin belongs to The Huntsman Collection, which also determines its supported trade-up route. Its flavor text presents an urgent warning from Coalition Defector Chase Turner concerning Sebastien and Valeria. Valve retired the rare drop pool on December 17, 2025, and the Huntsman Weapon Case no longer drops. Existing cases can still be bought on the market and opened, preserving that acquisition route despite retirement. Current buyers can also obtain the skin through marketplace listings, player trades, or a qualifying Trade Up Contract.

Finish Style

Cyrex uses a Custom Paint Job built around black and dark gray surfaces with contrasting white and red details. Thin red lines follow the upper receiver and outline sections of the stock. The lower receiver carries a broad white panel with dark geometric elements and small lettering. Angular red markings appear on the body and grip without covering every surface in bright color. The magazine remains dark apart from a prominent vertical red stripe. Black sections, white bands, and red rings extend the same palette across the scope. The barrel and muzzle stay dark, keeping the rifle's profile restrained around its more detailed central components. Together, the contrasting panels and fine markings create a technical appearance rather than a uniformly colored finish.

Float Value

The SCAR-20 | Cyrex has a float range of 0.00 to 0.50. Available exteriors are Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, and Battle-Scarred. StatTrak and Souvenir versions are also available, with version choice separate from the skin's cosmetic condition.

Rarity and Popularity

The SCAR-20 | Cyrex is Classified, a rarity grade separate from its float-based exterior. Its chance from the Huntsman Weapon Case is 1.07%, or about 1 in 94 openings. Trade Up Contracts using Restricted skins from The Huntsman Collection can also yield this Classified skin, though the outcome is random among that collection's Classified skins.

Why it’s Popular:

• Black, white, and red detailing suits coordinated loadouts

• Technical markings and contrasting panels create a distinct identity

• Every exterior is available, alongside StatTrak and Souvenir options

• Documented ownership by Xyp9x, Skadoodle, and Xizt

Price Range

The live SCAR-20 | Cyrex price range is $20.16 to $123.17. These bounds cover the whole skin, not a permanently assigned exterior or version. Compare the exact float value alongside the exterior label when choosing between individual copies. Standard, StatTrak, and Souvenir listings should be assessed separately, without assuming a fixed price relationship between versions. When checking the CS2 skin price to buy or sell, match the listing's condition and version before judging its value.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open the Huntsman Weapon Case

Open the Huntsman Weapon Case for a chance to receive the Cyrex. Its chance is 1.07%, so an opening does not ensure this skin. The case no longer drops, but existing cases can still be bought and opened.

3. Trade Up Contracts

A Trade Up Contract can use 10 Restricted skins from The Huntsman Collection to produce 1 Classified skin from that collection. The result is random among the collection's Classified skins, making Cyrex a possible outcome rather than an assured one.

4. Buy on the Steam Community Market

Buy the SCAR-20 | Cyrex on the Steam Community Market instead of relying on a random case or contract result. Check the listed exterior and version against the desired copy before committing to a purchase.

5. Trade with Other Players

Player-to-player trading offers another route to a specific Cyrex copy without opening a case. Compare the offered skin's float value, exterior, and version, then check the complete exchange before accepting.

Trading and Investment Considerations

The Huntsman Weapon Case no longer drops, but existing cases can still produce new Cyrex copies. Trade Up Contracts also remain available, so case retirement does not make the skin's supply fixed. Compare standard, StatTrak, and Souvenir listings carefully, since professional ownership does not establish current demand or easy resale.

Reasons it Holds Value

• No new Huntsman Weapon Case drops

• Classified rarity with a limited case-opening chance

• Documented professional-player ownership

• Distinctive technical finish with multiple collecting options

The investment verdict is medium-to-good, supported by retired case supply and documented professional ownership. Its Classified grade and distinctive finish add collecting appeal, but they do not guarantee price growth. The main risk is uncertain demand, especially because existing cases and Trade Up Contracts can still add copies.
