SCAR-20 | Grotto

SCAR-20 | Grotto is a CS2 skin for the Counter-Terrorist semi-automatic sniper rifle. Its mottled blue metallic finish combines bright cyan details with near-black patches and dark attachments. The look suits players who prefer textured blue finishes over a uniform color scheme. All exterior grades are available, alongside StatTrak™ and Souvenir versions.

Description

SCAR-20 | Grotto gives the Counter-Terrorist sniper rifle a blue, heavily textured appearance in CS2. The weapon combines rapid semi-automatic fire and powerful long-distance damage with sluggish movement. Its finish concentrates the painted detail across the receiver, handguard and stock, creating a busy central body. Mostly dark attachments contrast with that painted surface, keeping the scope and barrel visually distinct. The combination suits blue-themed loadouts and players who want irregular texture rather than clean, uninterrupted panels. Happy, aizy and SPUNJ have owned the skin, providing a supported connection to professional inventories without establishing current demand. Buyers can compare every exterior grade, making condition an important part of choosing a particular copy. Standard, StatTrak and Souvenir versions also give collectors different options to consider alongside float value and visible appearance.

History and Origin

SCAR-20 | Grotto was released in CS:GO on January 8, 2015, alongside the Chroma Case. Its debut came through the Chroma Case Skins update, placing the finish within that release's lineup. Algis, a Steam Workshop community designer, created the skin. It belongs to The Chroma Collection, which identifies its collection origin separately from its case acquisition route. The flavor text describes a commission by Season Corporation's founder after a rescue by Operator Kotaro Izaki. Valve retired the rare drop pool on December 17, 2025, ending new Chroma Case drops. Existing cases remain available to buy on the market and open, so retirement did not remove the case-opening route. Today, buyers can also obtain an existing Grotto directly through marketplace purchases or trades with other players.

Finish Style

Grotto uses a Patina finish with a sponged and brush-painted treatment in blue metallic colors. Deep blue, bright cyan and near-black cover the receiver, handguard and painted portions of the stock. Irregular patches create a dense, mottled surface rather than a repeating geometric design or a smooth single-color coating. Streaks break up the painted areas, while metallic blue highlights add another layer of visual detail. Bright cyan follows the upper and lower rails and picks out smaller features on the receiver. The barrel, muzzle device and scope remain mostly dark gray or black, separating the attachments from the brighter body. Muted gray-green appears on the magazine, pistol grip and parts of the stock, adding a quieter secondary color. Overall, the finish relies on contrast between busy painted sections and largely plain components rather than a central illustration.

Float Value

SCAR-20 | Grotto has a float range of 0.00 to 0.50. Its available exteriors are Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred, so no standard exterior grade is missing. StatTrak and Souvenir versions also exist, but these version options are separate from the cosmetic condition represented by the exterior and float.

Rarity and Popularity

SCAR-20 | Grotto is a Mil-Spec Grade skin from The Chroma Collection, rather than one of the higher rarity grades. Its chance from the Chroma Case is 15.98%, making case opening a possible acquisition route but not a way to select the result. Happy, aizy and SPUNJ have owned the finish, although that ownership does not establish how quickly an individual listing will sell.

Why it’s Popular:

• Blue metallic colors suit coordinated rifle loadouts

• Mottled bodywork contrasts with plain dark attachments

• All exterior grades provide condition choices

• StatTrak and Souvenir versions offer collecting options

Price Range

The live SCAR-20 | Grotto price range is $0.43 to $20.00. These bounds cover the whole skin, not a particular exterior or version. Compare Factory New through Battle-Scarred listings by their individual float values and visible condition rather than relying on the exterior label alone. Standard, StatTrak and Souvenir copies should also be distinguished when assessing a CS2 skin price. Before choosing a listing, check that its version, exterior and appearance match the intended purchase.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open the Chroma Case

Opening the Chroma Case can produce Grotto, with a 15.98% chance of receiving this skin. The case no longer drops, but existing cases can still be bought on the market and opened. Opening remains a chance-based route rather than a direct purchase of the desired finish.

3. Buy on the Steam Community Market

SCAR-20 | Grotto can be bought directly on the Steam Community Market without relying on a case-opening result. Compare the desired exterior and distinguish standard copies from StatTrak or Souvenir versions. Inspect the individual float and appearance, especially when choosing between copies sharing the same exterior label.

4. Trade with Other Players

Player-to-player trades offer another route to obtaining Grotto without opening a Chroma Case. Confirm the offered copy's exterior, float and version before accepting an exchange. Comparing those details with other available copies helps keep the trade focused on the actual item rather than its name alone.

Trading and Investment Considerations

The retired Chroma Case receives no new drops, although openings of existing cases can still add more Grotto copies. Professional ownership is established, but current buyer demand and resale speed remain uncertain. For a buy, sell or trade decision, compare matching exteriors and versions before weighing differences in float and appearance.

Reasons it Holds Value

• No new Chroma Case drops

• Ownership by Happy, aizy and SPUNJ

• StatTrak and Souvenir collecting options

• Distinctive blue metallic finish

The editorial investment rating is medium, balancing the retired case source, low price level and professional ownership. Its main risk is uncertain resale demand, while continued openings of existing cases prevent retirement from guaranteeing limited skin supply. These factors support a measured collecting decision, not a promise of future price growth.
