About this skin

How is a skin affected by its quality?

Short Description

★ Bayonet | Rust Coat is a CS2 knife skin with a Patina finish and a deliberately rusted appearance. Orange-brown corrosion breaks up the blue-gray blade, while an olive-green handle keeps the palette muted. It suits players who prefer weathered, military-style equipment over polished metal. Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred copies are available in regular and StatTrak™ versions.

Description

★ Bayonet | Rust Coat is a CS2 skin that combines the Bayonet's straightforward military shape with a visibly corroded finish. Irregular rust patches spread across the blade, creating an uneven surface appearance rather than a uniform color treatment. An olive-green handle and muted gray fittings keep the design grounded, with the rust providing most of its decorative detail. This restrained palette suits players building a loadout around earthy colors or utilitarian equipment. The Rust Coat theme concerns the exterior, while the knife remains operational despite its oxidized surfaces. Its available exteriors are Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred, so buyers choose between weathered conditions rather than searching for a pristine tier. Regular and StatTrak copies offer different version choices, but there is no Souvenir edition. When comparing listings, the useful details are the individual knife's exterior, float value, visible finish and StatTrak status.

History and Origin

★ Bayonet | Rust Coat was released in CS:GO on January 8, 2015. It arrived with the Chroma Case as part of the Chroma Case Skins update. Valve created the skin, rather than a community designer. The underlying Bayonet design has remained largely unchanged since World War II, giving the model a traditional military profile. Current case-opening routes include the Chroma Case, Chroma 2 Case and Chroma 3 Case. Valve retired the rare drop pool on December 17, 2025. As of October 9, 2026, these cases no longer drop, so their supply receives no newly dropped cases. Existing cases can still be bought and opened, while individual knives remain obtainable through marketplaces and player trades.

Finish Style

Rust Coat uses the Patina finish style, with uneven discoloration defining the blade rather than a printed graphic. The base metal appears blue-gray, interrupted by irregular orange-brown rust patches across its visible surface. A long recessed groove follows the blade, adding a clear structural line within the mottled coloring. Near the tip, a small oval opening provides another identifiable detail in the otherwise plain blade. The straight crossguard is muted gray and mottled, continuing the subdued treatment around the blade's base. The olive-green handle has raised segmented ridges alongside darker textured sections, visually separating the grip from the corroded metal. A gray metal end cap completes the handle without introducing a bright accent. The overall finish has a used, utilitarian character, with the uneven rust coloring providing most of its visual complexity.

Float Value

The float value of ★ Bayonet | Rust Coat ranges from 0.40 to 1.00. It comes only in Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred, with no Factory New, Minimal Wear or Field-Tested versions. Regular and StatTrak copies are available, but there is no Souvenir edition; version availability is separate from the knife's cosmetic condition.

Rarity and Popularity

★ Bayonet | Rust Coat has the Covert rarity grade, distinct from its exterior condition. The chance of receiving this specific knife from the Chroma Case is 0.0085%. DANK1NG owns the skin, providing a documented example of professional player ownership without establishing broader buyer demand.

Why it’s Popular:

• Orange-brown rust gives the blue-gray blade a distinctive, weathered appearance

• Olive-green grip and muted fittings suit earthy loadout colors

• Plain military styling keeps the focus on the blade's texture

• Regular and StatTrak versions provide different ownership options

Price Range

The live ★ Bayonet | Rust Coat price range is $115.62 to $351.68. These bounds cover the whole skin, not a fixed price for either exterior or version. Compare Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred listings using the exact float alongside the exterior label. Regular and StatTrak copies should also be assessed separately, without assuming a fixed price relationship between them. Before choosing a listing, compare its displayed CS2 skin price with the visible condition and version being offered.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open a Weapon Case

Open a Chroma Case, Chroma 2 Case or Chroma 3 Case for a chance at this knife. These cases no longer drop, but existing copies can still be bought and opened. The chance from the Chroma Case is 0.0085%, so opening it does not secure this specific result.

3. Buy on the Steam Community Market

Buy ★ Bayonet | Rust Coat directly through the Steam Community Market rather than relying on a case opening. Check whether the listing is Well-Worn or Battle-Scarred and whether it includes StatTrak before purchasing.

4. Trade with Other Players

Obtain the knife through a player-to-player trade using items already owned. Confirm the exact exterior, float value and StatTrak status of the offered copy before accepting the exchange.

Trading and Investment Considerations

The source cases no longer receive new drops, but remaining cases can still add Rust Coat knives through openings. DANK1NG's ownership confirms ownership by a professional player, not a measurable level of buyer demand or a promise of quick resale. When preparing to buy, sell or trade, compare the available exteriors by float, visible condition and StatTrak status.

Reasons it Holds Value

• Retired source cases receive no new drops

• Valve-created finish with a distinctive rusted appearance

• Regular and StatTrak options broaden collecting choices

• Documented ownership by DANK1NG

The editorial investment rating is medium. Retired source cases limit replenishment, while DANK1NG's ownership provides a documented professional connection. Remaining cases can still produce copies, and uncertain buyer demand makes future resale prices difficult to judge.
