Short Description

AWP | Mortis is a CS2 sniper rifle skin with skeletal artwork inspired by the Death tarot card. Gold, ochre, and reddish-orange details stand out against a dark black and brown body. Its ornate, macabre look suits players building darker loadouts. All exterior tiers are available, alongside StatTrak™ and Souvenir versions.

Description

AWP | Mortis gives the AWP sniper rifle a detailed, tarot-inspired identity in CS2. Its Gunsmith finish concentrates the artwork across the receiver and stock. Pale skeletal elements contrast with darker ornamental lines and angular panels. The mostly plain barrel and scope provide visual separation from the busy body design. This finish suits players who prefer illustrated weapon art and muted colors. Buyers can choose a standard copy or explore the available StatTrak and Souvenir versions. Exterior choices extend from Factory New through Battle-Scarred, accommodating different condition preferences. When buying, comparing the actual item image, float value, and version helps narrow down the available listings.

History and Origin

AWP | Mortis was released in CS:GO on February 14, 2018, alongside the Clutch Case. Its launch formed part of the "Clutch Case Skins" update. Steam Workshop community designer Zaphk created the finish. The skin belongs to The Clutch Collection, which also determines its eligible trade-up route. The Death tarot card provided the central inspiration for its skeletal imagery. Valve retired the rare drop pool on December 17, 2025. As of October 9, 2026, the Clutch Case no longer drops, although existing cases can still be bought and opened. Today, case openings, eligible trade-up contracts, marketplace purchases, and player trades remain acquisition routes.

Finish Style

Mortis uses a Gunsmith finish with custom-painted artwork inspired by the Death tarot card. Black and brown form the base across the receiver and stock. Gold and ochre ornamentation adds warmth without turning the weapon into a brightly colored design. Reddish-orange artwork appears among fine lines and angular panels on the body. The rear stock carries pale, bone-like details above darker gold patterns. Most of the long barrel and scope remain dark gray and comparatively plain. Muted coral-red accents mark the muzzle bracket, scope controls, and folded bipod. Together, these details create a dense illustrated body framed by restrained supporting components.

Float Value

AWP | Mortis has a float value range of 0.00 to 0.64. It is available in Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, and Battle-Scarred, with no exterior tier missing. StatTrak and Souvenir versions also exist, so buyers should check version availability separately from the listed cosmetic condition.

Rarity and Popularity

AWP | Mortis belongs to the Classified rarity grade. Its stated chance from the Clutch Case is 1.07%, making a case opening an uncertain acquisition route. Professional players known to own the skin include flusha, Hyper, and SmithZz.

Why it’s Popular:

• Death tarot imagery gives the rifle a distinct theme

• Warm gold and ochre details complement darker loadouts

• Detailed body artwork contrasts with a restrained barrel and scope

• All exterior tiers offer a broad choice of condition

• StatTrak and Souvenir options suit different collecting preferences

Price Range

The live AWP | Mortis price range is $2.91 to $385.00. These bounds cover the whole skin rather than any fixed exterior or version. Exterior, exact float value, and standard, StatTrak, or Souvenir status are important listing differences. Compare those details alongside the item image when checking a CS2 skin price. Buyers planning to sell or trade should likewise compare matching versions instead of treating every Mortis listing as equivalent.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open the Clutch Case

Opening an existing Clutch Case offers a chance to obtain AWP | Mortis, with a stated probability of 1.07%. The case no longer drops, but existing cases can still be bought on the market and opened.

3. Trade Up Contracts

A Trade Up Contract using 10 Restricted skins from The Clutch Collection produces 1 Classified skin from that collection. Mortis is a possible result, but the outcome is random among the collection's Classified skins.

4. Buy on the Steam Community Market

AWP | Mortis can be bought directly on the Steam Community Market rather than pursued through a random case opening. Check the listing's exterior and version to confirm which copy is being purchased.

5. Trade with Other Players

Player-to-player trading provides another route to acquiring Mortis without opening a case. Before accepting a swap, confirm the offered skin's float, exterior, and whether it is standard, StatTrak, or Souvenir.

Trading and Investment Considerations

The retired Clutch Case receives no new drops, although existing cases and eligible trade-ups can still produce additional Mortis copies. Professional ownership provides visibility, but it does not establish future demand or resale speed. Compare matching exteriors and versions before deciding what to buy, sell, or trade.

Reasons it Holds Value

• Clutch Case supply receives no new drops

• Classified rarity supports its collectible appeal

• Documented ownership by professional players

• Distinctive tarot-inspired artwork

• StatTrak and Souvenir versions broaden collecting options

AWP | Mortis receives a medium investment rating, supported by retired case drops, Classified rarity, and documented professional ownership. Existing cases and trade-up contracts can still add skin supply, while future demand remains uncertain. Its main risk is paying a premium for a particular version without evidence that resale demand will support it.
