Negev | Sour Grapes

Negev | Sour Grapes is a CS2 heavy-weapon skin built around purple color blocks and dark contrasting components. Its violet accents and unpatterned finish suit players assembling a purple-themed loadout. All exterior conditions are available, alongside a Souvenir version. There is no StatTrak™ edition.

Description

Negev | Sour Grapes gives the CS2 machine gun a purple finish without decorative artwork or a complex pattern. Its Solid Color finish uses contrasting shades to distinguish different parts of the weapon. Purple covers the receiver, barrel, muzzle and open-frame stock, creating a coordinated look across the main structure. Dark gray and black components break up that color and preserve clear separation between the weapon's parts. The ammunition box adds another contrast, with gray panels and pale edging beneath the receiver. This approach suits players who prefer a color-led heavy-weapon loadout over illustrated designs. Professional players cajunb, adreN and rallen own the skin, although ownership alone does not establish wider demand. Buyers can compare exterior condition, float value and standard versus Souvenir listings when choosing a copy.

History and Origin

Negev | Sour Grapes arrived in CS2 on March 31, 2025, with the Spring 2025 Skins update. Its release formed part of The Ascent Collection. Valve created the skin, rather than a community designer. Within that collection, the Negev finish occupies the Industrial Grade tier. The collection also provides a current acquisition route through Trade Up Contracts. That route uses Consumer Grade inputs and offers Sour Grapes as a possible outcome, not a guaranteed result. Existing copies can be bought on the Steam Community Market or exchanged through player-to-player trades. Souvenir copies are another available version to consider when browsing current listings, separate from the skin's original release details.

Finish Style

The Sour Grapes finish uses a Solid Color style, with flat areas of purple carrying the design. Those shades cover the receiver, barrel, muzzle and open-frame stock rather than forming an illustrated motif. Darker purple sections meet lighter violet edges and small fittings, giving the palette variation without adding artwork. The ribbed side panel remains dark gray to black, providing a textured-looking contrast beside the colored receiver. The top carrying handle and forward grip share that darker appearance, keeping these components visually distinct. Below the receiver, the large ammunition box combines gray panels, a black side and pale edging. Most of the finish reads as clean color blocks, with no visible decorative pattern in the design. The overall character comes from the balance between purple structural parts and darker functional components.

Float Value

The float value range for Negev | Sour Grapes is 0.00 to 0.80. Available exteriors are Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred, so none of the standard exterior categories are missing. Souvenir versions are available, with version choice separate from a copy's cosmetic condition.

Rarity and Popularity

Negev | Sour Grapes has the Industrial Grade rarity designation. The chance of obtaining it from The Ascent Collection is 1.78%, or about 1 in 56. It is one of 51 Machinegun skins, with both standard and Souvenir versions available.

Why it’s Popular:

• Purple shades suit coordinated loadouts

• Clean color blocks keep the design straightforward

• Dark components provide contrast without decorative artwork

• Souvenir availability offers another collecting option

Price Range

The live Negev | Sour Grapes price range is $0.02 to $15.65, covering the skin as a whole. Standard and Souvenir copies should be compared separately because they are distinct versions. Available exteriors run from Factory New to Battle-Scarred, giving buyers a broad condition choice. Float value adds detail within each exterior, so the condition label alone does not fully describe a listing. For a useful CS2 skin price comparison, buyers should match versions and exteriors, then examine the individual float and pictured finish.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Trade Up Contracts

A Trade Up Contract can use 10 Consumer Grade skins from The Ascent Collection to produce 1 Industrial Grade skin from that collection. Negev | Sour Grapes is a possible result. The outcome is random among the collection's Industrial Grade skins, so the contract does not guarantee this finish.

3. Buy on the Steam Community Market

Negev | Sour Grapes can be bought directly on the Steam Community Market rather than pursued through a random Trade Up Contract. Buyers should check the exterior and whether the listing is standard or Souvenir before selecting a copy.

4. Trade with Other Players

The skin can also be obtained by trading with other players. Before accepting an exchange, traders should confirm the exact item, its exterior, float value and whether it is a Souvenir copy.

Trading and Investment Considerations

The supply outlook remains uncertain, so scarcity alone is not a solid trading argument for this skin. Ownership by professional players provides some evidence of interest, but does not establish broad buyer demand or a reliable price trend. Anyone looking to sell or trade should compare standard and Souvenir listings by exterior and float rather than assume the versions share a price.

Reasons it Holds Value

• Accessible pricing for a purple heavy-weapon skin

• Ownership by professional players

• Souvenir availability adds a collecting option

• Distinctive purple Solid Color finish

Negev | Sour Grapes earns a medium investment rating, supported by accessible pricing, Souvenir availability and professional ownership. Those traits make it worth considering as a modest inventory purchase, not an assumed profit opportunity. The main risk is that future demand and supply conditions may not support price growth.
