Negev | Prototype

Negev | Prototype is a CS2 heavy machine gun skin with off-white receiver panels, red accents and mostly dark gray hardware. Technical markings give its restrained design a prototype-inspired appearance. The finish suits players who prefer industrial details over an all-over bright color scheme. It comes in every exterior from Factory New to Battle-Scarred, with StatTrak™ and Souvenir versions also available.

Description

Negev | Prototype gives the Negev heavy machine gun a technical, workshop-like appearance in CS2. The weapon's sustained suppressive-fire role fits the utilitarian character of the design. Its Custom Paint Job concentrates white and red detailing on the receiver rather than covering every component in bright colors. Dark barrel components and the large box magazine preserve a muted outline around those contrasting panels. Small symbols and fine outlines reward a closer inspection without dominating the overall look. This palette suits loadouts built around dark gray hardware with selective red highlights. Buyers have a full selection of exterior categories, allowing cosmetic condition to be considered separately from the finish itself. Standard, StatTrak and Souvenir options add another distinction when choosing a copy. Players looking to buy, sell or trade should compare the listing's version, exterior and float rather than relying on the skin name alone.

History and Origin

Negev | Prototype entered CS:GO on March 31, 2020. It launched alongside the Prisma 2 Case in the Prisma 2 Case Skins update. The finish was created by ross, a Steam Workshop community designer. It belongs to The Prisma 2 Collection. Its visual concept presents a temporary white-and-red paint treatment for a weapon design still being finalized. Valve retired the rare drop pool on December 17, 2025, ending new Prisma 2 Case drops. Existing cases remain available to buy on the market and can still be opened for a chance at the skin. Today, direct purchases on the Steam Community Market and trades with other players provide alternatives to opening a case.

Finish Style

Prototype uses a Custom Paint Job with its strongest contrast concentrated on the receiver. Off-white panels cover the upper and rear receiver, standing apart from the mostly dark gray body. Red diagonal bars follow the lower edge of the white receiver panel. Fine black outlines, small symbols and technical markings give those panels an industrial, work-in-progress character. The barrel, muzzle, forward grip and large box magazine remain gray to nearly black. A dark gray open-frame stock ends in a lighter gray butt pad. The white-and-red paint concept reinforces the idea of a temporary treatment while the weapon design is finalized. Together, the muted hardware and detailed receiver panels create a restrained finish whose visual interest comes from placement and contrast.

Float Value

Negev | Prototype has a float value range of 0.00 to 0.70. Its available exteriors are Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred, so none of the standard exterior categories is missing. StatTrak and Souvenir versions are also available, but version type should be checked separately from the float value and cosmetic condition.

Rarity and Popularity

Negev | Prototype is a Mil-Spec Grade skin and one of 51 machinegun skins. Its chance of appearing from the Prisma 2 Case is 11.42%. Professional players dupreeh, TaZ and apEX have owned the skin, providing a concrete ownership connection without establishing wider market demand.

Why it’s Popular:

• Off-white receiver panels contrast with dark gray hardware

• Red diagonal accents give the restrained finish a clear identity

• Technical markings suit industrial-themed loadouts

• Full exterior selection with StatTrak and Souvenir options

Price Range

The live Negev | Prototype price range is $0.13 to $15.00. These bounds cover the whole skin, not a fixed exterior or version. Factory New through Battle-Scarred provides a choice of conditions, while float value helps distinguish copies within an exterior. Standard, StatTrak and Souvenir versions should be compared separately rather than assumed to carry the same price. When comparing CS2 skin prices, check each listing's current amount alongside its exterior, float and version before buying, selling or trading.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open the Prisma 2 Case

Opening the Prisma 2 Case offers a chance to obtain Negev | Prototype, with an 11.42% chance of obtaining the skin. The case no longer drops, so this route depends on existing cases that can still be bought on the market and opened.

3. Buy on the Steam Community Market

Negev | Prototype can be bought directly on the Steam Community Market, avoiding the uncertain result of a case opening. Check the listing's exterior and version, then inspect its float when available to confirm that the copy matches the intended purchase.

4. Trade with Other Players

The skin can also be acquired through trades with other players. Before accepting, confirm the exact item, exterior, float value and version so that the offered copy matches the agreed trade.

Trading and Investment Considerations

No new Prisma 2 Cases drop, although existing cases can still produce additional Negev | Prototype copies when opened. Its low price level and listings across multiple exteriors make direct comparison useful, but do not establish sustained demand or a reliable price trend. Standard and StatTrak listings should be assessed individually, while Souvenir availability and pricing require a separate check.

Reasons it Holds Value

• Retired Prisma 2 Case drop supply

• Ownership by dupreeh, TaZ and apEX

• Distinctive white panels and red technical accents

• Low entry price for the Prototype finish

• StatTrak and Souvenir collecting options

The editorial investment rating is medium, reflecting retired case supply, professional ownership and a low price level. Those factors offer a modest basis for holding the skin, rather than a strong short-term trading thesis. Its main risk is that existing case openings can add copies without evidence of sustained demand growth.
