OneXPlayer Reveal Transforming Dual-Screen Handheld
OneXPlayer, the tech brand behind One-Netbook and winner of the 2020 Intel Innovation Award, has revealed a transforming handheld: OneXSugar. Also referred to as Sugar 1, the handheld is powered by Android and a Snapdragon chipset.
OneXPlayer is currently running an IndieGoGo crowdfunding campaign to help fund distribution, but has already shown off physical examples online. The company also highlighted the device on its official X (Twitter) account.
“Enjoy 28% faster GPU and 30% faster CPU, all in a sleek dual-screen format that redefines portable gaming,” OneXPlayer said. “Immerse yourself in action with a vibrant 6.01-inch main screen and a 3.92-inch secondary screen.”
Transform And Play
With its dual screens, the Sugar 1 is being presented as an ideal device to play retro and 3DS games. As it can have its smaller top screen neatly tucked away, it’s easy to convert it into a smaller, though still quite chunky, handheld. The hinged controllers also flip up and out of the way, so you can hold it more comfortably.
It features a Snapdragon G3 Gen 3, which is the preferred chipset for a lot of handhelds that run emulator software, such as those by AYANEO and Retroid. It also has an Adreno A32 GPU with ray tracing, and FastConnect 7800 for Wi-Fi 7, so gaming on the go can be seamless.
OneXPlayer is positioning the Sugar 1 as the world’s first transformable dual-screen device. This isn’t OneXPlayer’s first transforming device, though, as it also released the OneXPlayer G1, a portable gaming laptop with a removable keyboard, that can switch from being a small gaming laptop to a handheld to a mini desktop.
The OneXSugar is being made available in a sleek black design and a classic white color scheme.
