Shadow Daggers | Stained

The ★ Shadow Daggers | Stained is a CS2 knife skin for a pair of push daggers. Its silver surfaces carry blue-gray blotches and cloudy rings, creating a patchy metallic look. The finish suits players who prefer subdued colors and visible surface texture. It comes in every exterior from Factory New through Battle-Scarred, with standard and StatTrak™ options but no Souvenir version.

Description

The ★ Shadow Daggers | Stained gives CS2's paired push daggers a silver finish with irregular dark markings. The compact blade-and-handle layout makes those mottled surfaces a central part of the weapon's appearance. Its Stained treatment belongs to the Patina finish style, interrupting the bright metal with uneven discoloration. Both blade faces show blue-gray areas, while their broad central sections remain noticeably brighter. The open-frame handles continue the silver palette instead of introducing a separate contrasting color. This restrained combination suits metallic loadouts and players who favor surface detail over colorful artwork. Standard and StatTrak versions offer separate buying options within the same finish. Buyers can compare the exterior, exact float value and pictured blade markings before choosing a copy to buy or trade.

History and Origin

The finish debuted on September 17, 2015. Its introduction came through the "Shadow Case Skins" update. Valve created the design rather than a community contributor. It entered the game alongside the Shadow Case, which remains its associated container. Valve retired the rare drop pool on December 17, 2025. As of October 9, 2026, the Shadow Case no longer drops, separating its current supply situation from its release history. Existing cases can still be purchased on the market and opened for a chance at the knife. Buyers can also obtain existing copies through the Steam Community Market or trades with other players.

Finish Style

The Stained finish uses a deliberately induced patina treatment involving lemon and mustard applied unevenly to the surface. Bright silver remains the dominant color across both daggers, giving the finish a distinctly metallic base. Darker gray areas extend along the blade faces rather than forming a solid painted panel. Irregular blue-gray blotches mix with cloudy, ring-like marks to create the mottled texture. The broad central blade sections are brighter and mostly plain, leaving visible space between the darker details. Silver open-frame handles carry scattered gray markings around their edges and cutouts. Small dark symbols appear near the base of each blade, adding another detail without dominating the design. The overall pattern is patchy rather than dense, balancing discolored areas with exposed-looking silver surfaces.

Float Value

The ★ Shadow Daggers | Stained has a float range of 0.00 to 1.00. Its available exteriors are Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred, so none of the standard exterior categories are missing. Standard and StatTrak versions are available, but no Souvenir version exists; version availability is separate from an individual knife's cosmetic condition.

Rarity and Popularity

The ★ Shadow Daggers | Stained is a Covert knife skin. Its chance of being obtained from the Shadow Case is 0.02%, making a case opening an uncertain route to this specific finish. Although the case no longer drops, existing containers can still be opened and existing knives can be bought or traded.

Why it’s Popular:

• Silver blades suit restrained, metallic loadouts

• Cloudy rings and blue-gray blotches give the finish character

• Open-frame handles continue the mottled silver design

• Full exterior coverage and optional StatTrak versions

Price Range

The live ★ Shadow Daggers | Stained price range is $45.26 to $3,000.00. These bounds cover the whole skin, not a particular exterior or version. Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred listings provide different condition options to compare. An individual float value and the choice between standard and StatTrak versions help distinguish otherwise similar offers. For a useful CS2 skin price comparison, match the exterior and version, then inspect the item details rather than choosing solely by the lowest asking price.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open the Shadow Case

Open the Shadow Case for a chance at this knife, with a 0.02% chance of receiving the Stained finish. The case no longer drops, but existing containers can still be bought on the market and opened. Opening a case does not guarantee this specific result, unlike purchasing an existing copy.

3. Buy on the Steam Community Market

The ★ Shadow Daggers | Stained can be bought on the Steam Community Market. Compare the listed exterior and whether the item is standard or StatTrak before selecting an offer. Check the individual knife's float and appearance when those details are available, rather than treating every copy of the finish as identical.

4. Trade with Other Players

Player-to-player trading is another way to obtain an existing copy of the knife. Check the exact item name, exterior and standard or StatTrak version in the proposed exchange. Compare its float and visible markings with the item being offered before accepting the trade.

Trading and Investment Considerations

The Shadow Case receives no new drops, although opening existing cases can still add more Stained daggers to circulation. Listings include standard and StatTrak variants across several exteriors, so buyers and sellers should compare the precise version, float and visual condition. Future demand and resale speed remain uncertain; retired case supply alone does not establish that this skin will appreciate.

Reasons it Holds Value

• No new Shadow Case drops

• Covert rarity with a low case-opening chance

• Valve-created finish with a distinct mottled silver appearance

• Standard and StatTrak options for different collecting preferences

The ★ Shadow Daggers | Stained receives a medium investment rating. The retired Shadow Case and low opening odds support its collecting appeal, while market listings show that standard and StatTrak copies remain available. The main risk is uncertain future demand, since continuing case openings can add knives without establishing higher resale prices.
