Shadow Daggers | Rust Coat

★ Shadow Daggers | Rust Coat is a CS2 knife skin with a weathered Patina finish across its paired push daggers. Silver-gray metal, reddish-brown rust and exposed handle openings give it a rugged, industrial appearance. The subdued palette suits players who prefer worn metal to colorful artwork. It comes in Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred, with standard and StatTrak™ versions available.

Description

★ Shadow Daggers | Rust Coat applies a rusted-metal finish to the compact Shadow Daggers knife model in CS2. Its push-dagger shape combines broad blade faces with open-frame handles, keeping the weapon's outline visible beneath the finish. Irregular corrosion breaks up the silver-gray surfaces rather than forming a repeating decorative motif. Lighter blade edges contrast with the darker, mottled faces and help define the cutting surfaces. The handle openings add negative space to an otherwise heavily textured design. This look suits players building a muted loadout around weathered metal rather than bright paint or detailed illustrations. Professional players f0rest and m0NESY own copies, providing documented ownership without establishing broader demand. Buyers can compare the exterior, exact float, visible finish and StatTrak availability when choosing an individual listing.

History and Origin

The skin debuted on March 15, 2017, alongside the Spectrum Case. Its release belonged to the Spectrum Case Skins update. Valve created the finish rather than a community designer. The finish concept presents the daggers as a keepsake from Siege, with corroded surfaces that do not prevent their operation. The Spectrum 2 Case also became an acquisition source for this finish. Both source cases no longer drop following Valve's retirement of the rare drop pool on December 17, 2025. Existing cases can still be purchased on the market and opened, separating current access from new case drops. Buyers can also obtain existing copies directly through marketplaces, without relying on a case result. Player-to-player trading provides another route to copies already in circulation.

Finish Style

Rust Coat uses the Patina finish style to emphasize aged metal rather than a painted graphic. Silver-gray blade surfaces carry uneven reddish-brown corrosion that gives the finish its defining color contrast. The patches spread across the broad blade faces without forming a regular decorative pattern. Rust also appears near the guards and along sections of the open-frame handles. Pale blue-gray and darker gray areas remain visible between the corroded regions, creating a mottled surface. Scratches and streaks add visual texture instead of leaving the metal uniformly colored. The beveled blade edges form lighter bands around the darker faces, outlining each blade. Large triangular handle openings and smaller end openings preserve the exposed framework, with no colorful artwork competing with the weathered metal.

Float Value

The float value range is 0.40 to 1.00. Only Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred exteriors exist. StatTrak versions are available, with version availability separate from the cosmetic condition represented by float and exterior.

Rarity and Popularity

★ Shadow Daggers | Rust Coat has the Covert rarity grade. Its drop chance from the Spectrum Case is 0.0085%, a figure specific to that case. Existing copies remain obtainable through marketplaces and player trades, while existing Spectrum Case and Spectrum 2 Case stocks can still be opened.

Why it’s Popular:

• Reddish-brown rust gives the metal a distinctive weathered appearance

• Muted colors suit understated knife loadouts

• Open-frame handles preserve the push daggers' recognizable shape

• StatTrak availability adds a tracked version

Price Range

The live price range for ★ Shadow Daggers | Rust Coat is $33.50 to $266.45, covering the item across its available versions. Listings include Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred exteriors, with standard and StatTrak options to distinguish. Within either exterior, compare the exact float and inspect the visible finish rather than selecting by the wear label alone. A useful CS2 skin price comparison matches exterior and version before reviewing individual listing amounts. Buyers and sellers should check current listings rather than assume every copy carries the same value.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open a Weapon Case

Open a Spectrum Case or Spectrum 2 Case for a chance to obtain this finish. Neither case receives new drops, but existing cases remain available to buy and open. The skin's chance from the Spectrum Case is 0.0085%, so opening that case does not reliably produce the desired item.

3. Buy on the Steam Community Market

Buy an existing copy through the Steam Community Market to select the skin directly instead of relying on a case result. Compare Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred listings, checking whether the item is standard or StatTrak. Review the individual copy's float and appearance before choosing a listing.

4. Trade with Other Players

Trade with another player for an existing copy of the Rust Coat daggers. Check the offered item's exterior, float and StatTrak status before accepting, rather than treating every Rust Coat copy as interchangeable.

Trading and Investment Considerations

Neither source case receives new drops, so further case openings draw on existing stocks rather than newly dropped cases. Ownership by f0rest and m0NESY does not establish broad demand or show how quickly listed copies sell. Traders should compare matching exteriors and versions, while recognizing that future demand and price movement remain uncertain.

Reasons it Holds Value

• Retired source cases rely on existing stocks

• Documented ownership by f0rest and m0NESY

• Distinctive rust patina on paired push daggers

• StatTrak availability offers another collecting option

The editorial investment rating is medium: retired source cases and documented professional ownership provide support, but neither establishes future price growth. The main risk is uncertain resale demand, since ownership and asking prices do not show how quickly copies will sell.
