Short Description

M4A4 | The Battlestar is a CS2 skin for the Counter-Terrorist rifle, featuring a detailed Gunsmith finish. Dark charcoal surfaces, olive-gray panels and yellow-gold accents give it a mechanical appearance. The look suits players who prefer muted industrial colors with contrasting details. All exterior grades are available, alongside StatTrak™ and Souvenir versions.

Description

M4A4 | The Battlestar gives the Counter-Terrorist rifle a technical look built around paneling, stripes and metallic highlights. Its Gunsmith finish combines a dark receiver and barrel with lighter components elsewhere on the weapon. Rather than applying a uniform color, the design gives the magazine, grip and stock distinct treatments. Small markings add detail without overwhelming the restrained palette. The pale stock and yellow-striped magazine provide contrast against the darker central surfaces. This finish suits industrial-themed loadouts and players who prefer angular details over bright, all-over artwork. Buyers can choose between standard, StatTrak and Souvenir versions according to their collecting preferences. Comparing exterior, float value and an individual copy's appearance helps narrow the choice beyond the finish name alone.

History and Origin

The Battlestar was released on February 17, 2016, as part of the Operation Wildfire update. It arrived through the Operation Wildfire Case, which remains its case-opening source. Steam Workshop community designer Millenia created the finish. The skin belongs to The Wildfire Collection, which also provides its eligible trade-up route. Valve retired the rare drop pool on December 17, 2025, ending new drops of the Operation Wildfire Case. Existing cases can still be purchased on the market and opened, so retirement did not remove that acquisition route. Today, buyers can also obtain existing copies through the Steam Community Market or player-to-player trades without opening a case.

Finish Style

Dark charcoal and black cover most of the receiver and barrel, establishing the base of this Gunsmith finish. Olive-gray panels interrupt those dark surfaces, while narrow yellow-gold accents highlight selected edges. The handguard features rectangular inset sections alongside compact, block-shaped markings. Yellow edging follows its upper rail, emphasizing the straight lines along the top of the rifle. The gray magazine carries thin vertical lines interrupted by several diagonal yellow stripe sections. Pale gray-green coloring distinguishes the stock, where angular outlines divide its panels. The olive grip contains a dark textured inset that contrasts with the surrounding colors. Small technical-looking markings and metallic highlights complete the detailed mechanical appearance.

Float Value

M4A4 | The Battlestar has a float value range of 0.00 to 0.64. Its available exteriors are Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred. StatTrak and Souvenir versions are also available, with version choice separate from a copy's exterior condition.

Rarity and Popularity

The Battlestar is a Covert rifle skin from The Wildfire Collection. Its stated chance from an Operation Wildfire Case opening is 0.32%, making an opening an uncertain acquisition route. Professional players tarik, Spiidi and Ax1Le have owned the skin, giving it documented professional visibility.

Why it’s Popular:

• Muted industrial colors with clear yellow-gold accents

• Detailed paneling across the handguard, magazine and stock

• Every exterior grade available for different condition preferences

• Standard, StatTrak and Souvenir collecting options

Price Range

The live M4A4 | The Battlestar CS2 skin price range is $24.01 to $146.28. These bounds cover the whole skin, not a fixed exterior or version. Current comparisons show that some Souvenir copies occupy a higher price level, making version checks important. Exterior and float should be assessed separately from whether a listing is standard, StatTrak or Souvenir. Before choosing to buy or sell, compare matching versions and inspect the individual copy rather than relying on the exterior label alone.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open the Operation Wildfire Case

Opening an Operation Wildfire Case offers a chance to obtain The Battlestar, with a stated probability of 0.32%. The case no longer drops, but existing cases can still be bought on the market and opened.

3. Trade Up Contracts

A Trade Up Contract can exchange 10 Classified skins from The Wildfire Collection for 1 Covert skin from that collection. The Battlestar is a possible outcome, but the result is random among the collection's Covert skins.

4. Buy on the Steam Community Market

The Steam Community Market provides a direct route to buying an existing M4A4 | The Battlestar copy. Compare its exterior, float and version before purchasing, since direct selection avoids the random outcome of a case opening or contract.

5. Trade with Other Players

Player-to-player trades allow an existing owner to exchange The Battlestar for other items. Check the offered copy's float value, exterior and version before agreeing to the trade, rather than treating all copies as interchangeable.

Trading and Investment Considerations

No new Operation Wildfire Cases enter through drops, but existing cases and eligible trade-up inputs still offer routes to additional skins. Standard, StatTrak and Souvenir copies need separate comparisons when evaluating a listing or proposed trade. Short-term resale strength remains uncertain, and a retired case alone does not establish sustained demand.

Reasons it Holds Value

• Source case no longer receives new drops

• Covert rarity within The Wildfire Collection

• Documented ownership by professional players

• Distinctive mechanical finish with yellow-gold accents

• Standard, StatTrak and Souvenir collecting options

The investment rating is medium, balancing its retired source case and professional ownership against uncertain resale demand. Its Covert grade and version selection offer collecting appeal without establishing future price growth. The main risk is weak buyer demand while existing case openings and Trade Up Contracts can still add supply.
