M4A1-S | Nightmare

The M4A1-S | Nightmare is a CS2 skin for the silenced Counter-Terrorist rifle, featuring a dark, creature-themed Custom Paint Job. Bright cyan and icy blue artwork contrasts with its charcoal and black base. The look suits players who favor cold colors and unsettling imagery. All exterior conditions are available, alongside StatTrak™ and Souvenir versions.

Description

The M4A1-S | Nightmare brings a nocturnal creature design to the silenced Counter-Terrorist rifle in CS2. Compared with its unmuffled counterpart, the weapon pairs a smaller magazine with reduced firing noise, lower recoil and improved accuracy. Cyan and icy blue artwork stretches across the suppressor, receiver, magazine and stock, connecting the rifle's main surfaces. A sharp-featured creature on the receiver gives the finish its central visual focus. Mostly dark fittings and a black pistol grip provide contrast without interrupting the overall palette. Its horror-inspired imagery suits players seeking a detailed rifle skin with a dark foundation rather than a bright background. Buyers can inspect the float and listing image to choose how this busy design appears on a particular copy. Regular, StatTrak and Souvenir options also make version selection an important part of comparing listings.

History and Origin

The M4A1-S | Nightmare entered CS:GO on August 1, 2018, alongside the Horizon Case in the "Horizon Case Skins" update. Steam Workshop designer apel8 created the finish, giving the rifle a community-designed origin. It belongs to The Horizon Collection, which also defines its collection-specific trade-up route. The nocturnal creature concept carries into an alarm-themed flavor line, connecting the name with the artwork. The Horizon Case no longer drops after Valve retired the rare drop pool on December 17, 2025. That retirement affects new case supply rather than preventing owners from opening cases already in circulation. Existing Horizon Cases can still be bought on the market and opened for a chance at this skin. Today, buyers can also obtain existing copies through marketplace listings or player-to-player trades.

Finish Style

The Custom Paint Job builds its creature artwork over a charcoal and black foundation. Bright cyan and icy blue provide the main contrast, giving the rifle a cold visual character. The receiver shows a shadowy figure with sharp features, establishing the focal point of the design. Jagged blue shapes surround that figure and make the central artwork feel dense and restless. Branch-like dark lines and blue streaks continue along the suppressor and stock. Similar marks extend down the magazine, carrying the design beyond the receiver. Thin blue highlights follow the ribbed handguard, adding detail to its segmented surface. The pistol grip and several fittings remain mostly dark, leaving breaks between the decorated areas. Together, the dark background and glowing-looking blue details emphasize the finish's unsettling nocturnal theme.

Float Value

The M4A1-S | Nightmare has a float value range of 0.00 to 1.00. Its available exteriors are Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred, with no exterior tier excluded. StatTrak and Souvenir versions are also available, while exterior and float describe the cosmetic condition of the individual copy.

Rarity and Popularity

The M4A1-S | Nightmare is a Classified skin available from the Horizon Case. Its chance from that case is 1.07%, making a specific Nightmare result uncertain when opening a case. Professional owners include byali, rallen and XotiC, providing a concrete ownership link without establishing broader trading demand.

Why it’s Popular:

• Icy blue artwork contrasts clearly with the dark rifle

• Sharp-featured creature imagery gives the receiver a distinctive focus

• All exterior tiers offer a broad choice of condition

• StatTrak and Souvenir options support different collecting preferences

Price Range

The live M4A1-S | Nightmare price range is $5.52 to $269.35. Available exteriors cover Factory New through Battle-Scarred, giving buyers several condition options to compare. Regular, StatTrak and Souvenir listings should be evaluated separately because their asking prices can differ. Within an exterior, check the exact float and pictured condition rather than assuming every copy offers the same appearance. For a useful CS2 skin price comparison, match the finish, exterior and version before deciding where to buy.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open the Horizon Case

Opening the Horizon Case offers a chance to obtain this Classified rifle skin. Its chance is 1.07%, so an opening does not guarantee a Nightmare. The case no longer drops, but existing cases can still be bought on the market and opened.

3. Trade Up Contracts

A Trade Up Contract can use 10 Restricted skins from The Horizon Collection to produce 1 Classified skin from that collection. Nightmare is a possible outcome, with the result chosen randomly among the collection's Classified skins. Buying a specific copy instead avoids uncertainty over which finish the contract produces.

4. Buy on the Steam Community Market

The M4A1-S | Nightmare can be bought directly on the Steam Community Market without relying on a case opening. Compare the listed exterior and version, then inspect the float and appearance where available before choosing a copy.

5. Trade with Other Players

Player-to-player trades offer another way to obtain the Nightmare by exchanging items with another owner. Verify that the offered skin has the intended exterior and version, then inspect its float and appearance. This route selects an existing copy rather than producing a random case or contract result.

Trading and Investment Considerations

The retired Horizon Case limits new case supply, but existing cases and trade-up contracts can still produce more copies of this finish. Professional ownership offers an interest signal, while sales volume and price-history evidence remain uncertain. When buying, selling or arranging a trade, compare the exact exterior, float and version rather than treating every Nightmare listing as interchangeable.

Reasons it Holds Value

• Retired Horizon Case supply receives no new drops

• Documented ownership by professional players

• Distinctive cyan creature artwork

• Regular, StatTrak and Souvenir collecting options

The editorial investment rating is medium-to-good, supported by retired case supply, documented professional ownership and multiple collecting options. Those factors support a holding rationale, but they do not establish a reliable price trend. The main risk is uncertain future demand while existing cases and trade-ups can continue adding copies.
