M4A1-S | Golden Coil

M4A1-S | Golden Coil is a CS2 rifle skin for the Counter-Terrorist side, combining a black base with bright gold decoration. Its attacking snake artwork extends across the receiver, with curling details reaching the stock. The finish suits players building a black-and-gold loadout with an ornate centerpiece. Factory New through Battle-Scarred exteriors are available, along with StatTrak™ and Souvenir versions.

Description

M4A1-S | Golden Coil brings a detailed Gunsmith finish to the silenced Counter-Terrorist rifle in CS2. The underlying weapon has a smaller magazine than its unsilenced counterpart, alongside quieter shots, reduced recoil, and better accuracy. Those characteristics belong to the rifle, while Golden Coil provides its distinctive visual treatment. Bright gold artwork contrasts with the mostly black body, giving the receiver and suppressor a decorated appearance. The attacking snake is the central motif, supported by scale-like textures and gold trim rather than a broad color palette. This look suits players who prefer intricate weapon art while keeping a restrained black-and-gold color scheme. Standard, StatTrak, and Souvenir copies offer different versions to consider alongside cosmetic condition. Buyers can compare the exterior, exact float value, and inspected appearance before choosing a copy for their loadout.

History and Origin

M4A1-S | Golden Coil was released in CS:GO on September 17, 2015, alongside the Shadow Case. Its arrival formed part of the Shadow Case Skins update. Steam Workshop community designer Kitch.sb created the finish. The skin belongs to The Shadow Collection, connecting its collection identity to its original case release. Opening the Shadow Case remains an acquisition route today, rather than merely part of the skin's history. Valve retired the rare drop pool on December 17, 2025, ending new Shadow Case drops. Existing cases can still be bought on the market and opened, so retirement does not prevent obtaining the skin through a case. Current alternatives include direct marketplace purchases, player trades, and eligible Trade Up Contracts using skins from The Shadow Collection.

Finish Style

Golden Coil uses a Gunsmith finish with a mostly black base and bright gold artwork. An attacking snake winds across the receiver, making the rifle's central body the focus of the design. Its head sits near the rear, while curling lines continue onto the stock. Dense gold scale-like detailing covers the suppressor and portions of the receiver, reinforcing the snake theme beyond the main illustration. The magazine has a dark central panel framed by gold stripes, giving it a more structured treatment than the flowing receiver artwork. A pale gold patterned surface distinguishes the pistol grip from the surrounding black areas. The ribbed fore-end stays mostly black, leaving a plainer section beside the detailed decoration. Together, these placements create an ornate finish without covering every visible surface in the same pattern.

Float Value

M4A1-S | Golden Coil has a float value range of 0.00 to 1.00. Its available exteriors are Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, and Battle-Scarred, so none of these exterior categories is excluded. StatTrak and Souvenir versions also exist, with version availability remaining a separate consideration from a copy's exterior and cosmetic condition.

Rarity and Popularity

M4A1-S | Golden Coil has the Covert rarity grade and belongs to The Shadow Collection. Opening the Shadow Case offers a 0.32% chance of obtaining this skin, making a direct purchase an alternative to a random result. Documented professional owners include byali, NBK-, and shox, although that ownership does not establish current market demand.

Why it’s Popular:

• Bright gold snake artwork against a mostly black rifle

• Detailed suppressor and receiver patterns

• Black-and-gold styling for coordinated loadouts

• Standard, StatTrak, and Souvenir options

Price Range

The live M4A1-S | Golden Coil price range is $40.39 to $533.61. These bounds cover the whole skin rather than permanently matching a particular exterior or version. Exterior and version affect pricing, so standard, StatTrak, and Souvenir copies should be compared within their respective listing groups. Within an exterior, check the exact float and inspected appearance to judge whether a listing suits the intended loadout. Eneba Skins provides a place to compare CS2 skin prices and available listings before deciding which copy to buy.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open the Shadow Case

Open the Shadow Case for a chance to obtain Golden Coil, with an item chance of 0.32%. The case no longer drops, but existing cases can still be purchased on the market and opened. This route produces a random result rather than a selectable skin.

3. Trade Up Contracts

A Trade Up Contract can exchange 10 Classified skins from The Shadow Collection for 1 Covert skin from that collection. Golden Coil is a possible outcome, but the result is random among the collection's Covert skins.

4. Buy on the Steam Community Market

The Steam Community Market offers a direct purchase route for M4A1-S | Golden Coil instead of relying on a random case opening. Check the exterior and version attached to each listing, then compare the asking price with other available offers.

5. Trade with Other Players

Golden Coil can also be obtained through a trade with another player. Before accepting, verify the exact item, exterior, float value, and whether the offered copy is standard, StatTrak, or Souvenir.

Trading and Investment Considerations

Retired Shadow Case supply and Covert opening odds support a scarcity argument, but neither establishes how quickly an individual listing will sell. Ownership by byali, NBK-, and shox adds professional visibility without proving current buyer demand or future price growth. For a buy, sell, or trade decision, compare the exact exterior, float, and version rather than treating all copies as interchangeable.

Reasons it Holds Value

• No new Shadow Cases enter the drop pool

• Covert rarity limits the case-opening chance

• Documented ownership by professional players

• Distinctive black-and-gold snake artwork

The editorial investment rating is medium-to-good, supported by retired case supply, Covert rarity, and documented professional ownership. The main risk is uncertain resale demand: these factors do not establish future prices or how quickly a particular copy will sell.
