M4A1-S | Mud-Spec

M4A1-S | Mud-Spec is a CS2 rifle skin for the Counter-Terrorist side, featuring dark camouflage across its silenced weapon platform. Irregular tan and brown patches contrast with a mostly black base and bronze-brown handguard. The restrained design suits players who prefer earthy colors over bright artwork. Regular and Souvenir copies are available across every exterior, with no StatTrak™ version.

Description

M4A1-S | Mud-Spec gives the Counter-Terrorist rifle a subdued camouflage finish in CS2. Its silenced weapon platform offers quieter firing, reduced recoil, and improved accuracy, with a smaller magazine than its unsilenced counterpart. The skin's visual identity comes from dark surfaces broken up by irregular brown and tan patches. Camouflage extends across the receiver, stock, magazine, pistol grip, and suppressor, keeping the main components visually connected. A bronze-brown handguard adds a warmer section without changing the overall muted palette. This makes the finish a suitable choice for players building a practical-looking, earth-toned loadout. Buyers can choose between regular and Souvenir copies rather than a kill-counter version. Comparing the exterior, exact float, and version helps distinguish individual listings before a purchase or trade.

History and Origin

M4A1-S | Mud-Spec was released on April 24, 2023. It arrived with The Anubis Collection in the "Anubis Skins" update. Steam Workshop community designer SayChains created the finish. Its accompanying flavor text refers to backup arriving, matching the camouflage's utilitarian character. Today, Souvenir copies can be obtained through 4 Anubis Souvenir packages. Examples include the Paris 2023 Anubis Souvenir Package and Copenhagen 2024 Anubis Souvenir Package. Regular copies can also result from trade-up contracts using Consumer Grade skins from The Anubis Collection. Buying on the Steam Community Market or trading with another player provides access to an existing copy.

Finish Style

Mud-Spec uses a Gunsmith finish with a muted palette rather than bright graphics or ornamental artwork. Black and dark brown camouflage covers the receiver, stock, magazine, pistol grip, and suppressor. Irregular tan and brown patches interrupt the dark base without forming a rigid geometric layout. The ribbed handguard has a bronze-brown tone, with dark grooves emphasizing its texture. The exposed barrel and carry handle remain mostly black, framing the warmer sections with darker surfaces. Pale metallic highlights trace the suppressor's upper edge and several other edges of the rifle. No visible lettering competes with the camouflage, leaving the scattered patches as the central visual feature. Together, these details create a restrained finish whose character comes from color, texture, and placement rather than decorative imagery.

Float Value

The float value of M4A1-S | Mud-Spec ranges from 0.00 to 0.73. Available exteriors are Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, and Battle-Scarred. Regular and Souvenir versions are available, but there is no StatTrak version; version type is separate from cosmetic condition.

Rarity and Popularity

M4A1-S | Mud-Spec has Industrial Grade rarity, which is separate from its exterior or Souvenir designation. Its chance as an Anubis Collection outcome is 4.0%, or about 1 in 25. Professional players flusha, kennyS, and allu own the skin.

Why it’s Popular:

• Dark camouflage for restrained Counter-Terrorist loadouts

• Bronze-brown handguard with contrasting dark grooves

• Regular and Souvenir versions to choose from

• Ownership by flusha, kennyS, and allu

Price Range

The live M4A1-S | Mud-Spec price range is $0.25 to $13.00. Its low entry cost suits buyers seeking a rifle cosmetic without a large initial outlay. Within each exterior, compare exact float values rather than treating every copy as identical. Check whether each listing is regular or Souvenir when comparing its CS2 skin price. The displayed bounds cover the whole item, so individual listings show the current asking price for a specific copy.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open a Souvenir Package

Souvenir copies can be obtained by opening an Anubis Souvenir Package that includes Mud-Spec. The Paris 2023 Anubis Souvenir Package and Copenhagen 2024 Anubis Souvenir Package are examples. Opening a package offers a chance at the skin rather than a selectable result.

3. Trade Up Contracts

A trade-up contract using 10 Consumer Grade skins from The Anubis Collection produces 1 Industrial Grade skin from that collection. Mud-Spec is a possible result, but the outcome is random among the collection's Industrial Grade skins.

4. Buy on the Steam Community Market

M4A1-S | Mud-Spec can be bought on the Steam Community Market as an existing item. Compare its exterior, exact float, and regular or Souvenir designation before choosing a listing. Direct buying avoids the random outcome involved in a package opening or trade-up contract.

5. Trade with Other Players

Players can trade for an existing regular or Souvenir copy. Inspect its float and exterior, and confirm that the offered version matches the agreement before accepting. This route lets players exchange items they already own, with terms determined by the trade offer.

Trading and Investment Considerations

Regular and Souvenir copies give traders different versions to compare, but professional ownership does not establish broad resale demand. Check the exterior, exact float, and version before setting a buy, sell, or trade target. Future supply and resale demand remain uncertain, limiting the case for short-term speculation.

Reasons it Holds Value

• Low entry pricing for a collection rifle

• Souvenir options linked to Anubis event packages

• Ownership by flusha, kennyS, and allu

• Restrained camouflage suited to earth-toned loadouts

The investment rating is medium-to-poor: low entry pricing, Souvenir options, and professional ownership offer appeal but do not demonstrate sustained resale demand. Uncertain future supply and buyer interest are the main risks, making a purchase for use easier to justify than a speculative hold.
