Short Description

M4A1-S | Dark Water is a CS2 rifle skin with charcoal metallic tones and flowing aquatic stripes. Silver highlights contrast with its predominantly black stock, carry handle and pistol grip. The subdued design suits players who prefer dark finishes without colorful artwork. It comes in Minimal Wear and Field-Tested, with standard, StatTrak™ and Souvenir versions available.

Description

M4A1-S | Dark Water is a rifle skin for the Counter-Terrorist side's silenced M4A1-S in CS2. Its Anodized Multicolored finish combines dark metallic paint with a chrome base. Flowing aquatic stripes connect the suppressor, handguard, receiver and magazine through a consistent visual theme. The predominantly black stock, carry handle and grip keep the rifle's silhouette restrained. Silver highlights along the upper edges break up the charcoal tones without introducing bright colors. This look suits players who prefer subtle metallic detail over lettering or colorful artwork. Minimal Wear and Field-Tested provide the available exterior choices, with no Factory New option. Buyers can choose standard, StatTrak or Souvenir copies, then compare the exact float value of individual listings.

History and Origin

M4A1-S | Dark Water debuted in CS:GO on August 14, 2013, during the Arms Deal update. It arrived through the CS:GO Weapon Case, establishing its original case-opening route. Valve created the finish rather than selecting work from a community designer. The skin belongs to The Arms Deal Collection, which also supports its trade-up route. Valve retired the rare drop pool on December 17, 2025, ending new CS:GO Weapon Case drops. Existing cases can still be bought on the market and opened for a chance at the skin. Current buyers can also purchase an existing copy on the Steam Community Market or arrange a player trade. Trade-up contracts provide another acquisition route, but the collection's Restricted result is random.

Finish Style

Dark Water uses an Anodized Multicolored finish built around a dark aquatic-stripe design. A chrome base sits beneath charcoal metallic paints with differing reflectivity. The palette is mostly charcoal gray and black, with bright silver accents along the upper edges. Irregular, flowing stripes spread across the suppressor, handguard, receiver and magazine. Their subtly contrasting tones give the pattern definition without making it brightly colored. The ribbed handguard and grooved magazine introduce straight, repeated lines beneath those flowing shapes. The stock, carry handle and pistol grip remain predominantly black, interrupted by small reflective highlights. With no visible lettering or colorful artwork, the overall effect is subdued and metallic.

Float Value

M4A1-S | Dark Water has a float range of 0.10 to 0.26. It is available only in Minimal Wear and Field-Tested, never Factory New, Well-Worn or Battle-Scarred. StatTrak and Souvenir versions also exist, but those version labels are separate from the skin's cosmetic condition.

Rarity and Popularity

M4A1-S | Dark Water has the Restricted rarity grade. Its drop chance from the CS:GO Weapon Case is 5.33%, so opening a case does not guarantee this finish. Documented professional owners include Happy, tarik and mixwell, although ownership alone does not establish market demand.

Why it’s Popular:

• Subdued charcoal tones suit dark loadouts

• Aquatic stripes add detail without bright artwork

• Silver highlights complement the metallic finish

• Standard, StatTrak and Souvenir options offer different collecting choices

Price Range

The live M4A1-S | Dark Water price range is $52.40 to $220.00. These bounds cover the whole skin, not a fixed exterior or version. Exterior comparisons are limited to Minimal Wear and Field-Tested within its 0.10 to 0.26 float range. Standard, StatTrak and Souvenir listings should be compared separately rather than treated as interchangeable purchases. When comparing CS2 skin prices, check the exact float and version alongside the asking price.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open the CS:GO Weapon Case

Open the CS:GO Weapon Case for a 5.33% chance of receiving Dark Water. The case no longer drops, but existing cases can still be bought and opened.

3. Trade Up Contracts

A trade-up contract uses 10 Mil-Spec Grade skins from The Arms Deal Collection to produce 1 Restricted skin from that collection. Dark Water is a possible result, but the outcome is random among the collection's Restricted skins.

4. Buy on the Steam Community Market

An existing copy can be bought on the Steam Community Market without relying on a random case result. Compare the listing's exterior, float and standard, StatTrak or Souvenir version before purchasing.

5. Trade with Other Players

Dark Water can also be obtained by trading with another player. Check the offered item's exact float, exterior and version before agreeing to the exchange.

Trading and Investment Considerations

The CS:GO Weapon Case no longer drops, although existing cases and trade-up contracts can still produce this finish. Professional ownership provides visibility, but it does not establish future demand, price growth or quick resale. Before buying, selling or trading, compare the exterior, exact float and standard, StatTrak or Souvenir version.

Reasons it Holds Value

• No new CS:GO Weapon Case drops

• Documented ownership by Happy, tarik and mixwell

• Valve-created finish from The Arms Deal Collection

• Distinctive charcoal metallic aquatic pattern

The editorial investment rating is medium-to-good, supported by retired case drops, Arms Deal origins and documented professional ownership. The main risk is uncertain future demand, while existing case openings and trade-ups can still add copies to circulation.
