M249 | Nebula Crusader

M249 | Nebula Crusader is a CS2 heavy machine gun skin with an arcade-cabinet-inspired Gunsmith finish. Dark blue and red surfaces carry space-themed artwork, yellow lettering and colorful character panels. The look suits retro-gaming and space-themed loadouts. It comes in Factory New through Battle-Scarred, with standard, StatTrak™ and Souvenir versions available.

Description

The M249 | Nebula Crusader brings a colorful arcade-inspired design to the M249 heavy machine gun in CS2. The weapon favors open-area use, combining accuracy and high ammunition capacity with a slower firing rate. Its receiver carries space-themed illustrations over a dark blue and red base. The decorated box magazine extends the cabinet theme beyond the main body, giving the weapon another detailed focal point. This finish suits players who prefer illustrated weapon art over a restrained, single-color appearance. Buyers can choose among the available exteriors without being limited to either clean or heavily worn condition categories. Standard, StatTrak and Souvenir options also give collectors separate versions to consider. Compare the exterior, float value, version and listing images when deciding which copy fits a loadout.

History and Origin

M249 | Nebula Crusader was released in CS:GO on September 17, 2015, alongside the Shadow Case. Its introduction formed part of the Shadow Case Skins update. Steam Workshop community designer Zaphk created the finish. The skin belongs to The Shadow Collection, which also determines its eligible collection-based trade-up route. Its flavor text reinforces the arcade concept by suggesting that using the weapon requires inserting a coin. Valve retired the rare drop pool on December 17, 2025. As of October 9, 2026, the Shadow Case no longer drops, although existing cases can still be purchased and opened. Current acquisition routes include those remaining cases, direct market purchases, player trades and eligible Trade Up Contracts.

Finish Style

The Gunsmith finish presents the M249 as a custom-painted arcade cabinet rather than a uniformly colored weapon. Dark blue and red dominate the receiver, establishing the main palette. Multicolored space-themed artwork stretches across its side, with illustrated figures and scattered bright details. Large yellow lettering near the top adds a contrasting element above the illustrations. The box magazine uses blue-purple panels filled with colorful arcade-style graphics. A bright orange border frames the character panel on the magazine's front face. The red stock has dark inset sections, while the grip stays dark gray. Gray metal on the barrel and muzzle contrasts with the painted body. Thin pale blue and white borders frame sections of the artwork, completing the busy cabinet-like presentation.

Float Value

The M249 | Nebula Crusader float range is 0.00 to 1.00. Available exteriors are Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred. Standard, StatTrak and Souvenir versions are available, with version choice separate from the cosmetic condition represented by float and exterior.

Rarity and Popularity

M249 | Nebula Crusader has Restricted rarity and is one of 51 machinegun skins. A Shadow Case opening has a 4.0% chance of producing this skin, about 1 in 25 results. Professional players bondik, nitr0 and ub1que have owned it, although that ownership does not establish broader market demand.

Why it’s Popular:

• Arcade-cabinet styling for retro-gaming loadouts

• Space-themed artwork with bright character details

• Distinctive orange-bordered magazine panel

• Standard, StatTrak and Souvenir options

Price Range

The live M249 | Nebula Crusader price range is $0.90 to $15.04. These bounds cover the whole skin, not a particular exterior or version. Compare standard, StatTrak and Souvenir listings separately, checking the exterior and float value of each copy. Listing images help assess the individual appearance rather than relying solely on the condition label. When comparing CS2 skin prices to buy, sell or trade, use listings with matching versions and exteriors as the relevant reference.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open the Shadow Case

Open a Shadow Case for a chance to obtain M249 | Nebula Crusader. The case no longer drops, but existing cases remain purchasable and usable. Each opening has a 4.0% chance of this skin, so the result is not guaranteed.

3. Trade Up Contracts

A Trade Up Contract using 10 Mil-Spec Grade skins from The Shadow Collection produces 1 Restricted skin from that collection. Nebula Crusader is a possible outcome, but the result is random among the collection's Restricted skins.

4. Buy on the Steam Community Market

The Steam Community Market offers a direct-purchase route for M249 | Nebula Crusader without relying on a random case result. Check the offered exterior and version, then assess the copy's float and appearance before buying.

5. Trade with Other Players

Player-to-player trades provide another route to this finish by exchanging items with another player. Confirm the exact skin, exterior and version in the offer, and inspect its float and appearance before accepting.

Trading and Investment Considerations

The retired Shadow Case receives no new drops, but existing cases can still generate skins and existing copies can circulate through trades. Professional ownership provides visibility without establishing sales volume or resale speed. Without verified price-history or trading-volume evidence, short-term flips remain uncertain; compare versions, exteriors and floats before committing.

Reasons it Holds Value

• Retired Shadow Case limits fresh case supply

• Documented professional ownership

• Distinctive arcade-cabinet artwork

• Accessible price level for themed loadouts

The investment rating is medium, supported by retired case supply, documented professional ownership and an accessible price level. The main risk is uncertain resale demand, since those factors do not establish how quickly a copy will sell. It is better approached as a themed purchase or cautious hold than an assured source of returns.
