Blood-Drenched Retro Shooter Captain Wayne: Vacation Desperation Demo Out Now

Silver Lining Interactive announced its new partnership with Ciaran Games to help with publishing the studio’s first creation, Captain Wayne: Vacation Desperation. The demo version of the game is currently available, with the full launch on PC planned for later in 2025.

This cartoon-style FPS is dripping with blood and glorious violence. Captain Wayne throws out profanities like ye olde Duke Nukem and blows enemies away with his double-barreled shotgun for a hand all across the seven and a half seas.

“Clad in hot pink, fuelled by rage and rum, and wielding an arsenal fit for a sea-demon, Captain Wayne doesn’t just kill, he annihilates,” the companies behind the game said in a joint press release.

“Whether he’s blasting enemies into mist with his double-barreled palm, shredding them with his chain-gun fingers, or reducing them to chum with his explosive Boom Brew, every encounter is a symphony of destruction.”

A Hidden Treasure Chest of Features

According to legend, Captain Wayne lost his arm to a fabled Vampire Whale and his only goal is to make sure that every Killer Whale only lives long enough to regret ever crossing his path. To ensure his success, the Captain has a formidable arsenal of over-the-top weapons designed for gory carnage in the same vein as Terrifier: The ARTcade Game.

The game will feature eight enemy-packed areas across the treacherous Orca Isle, fully-voiced cinematics that bring the protagonist’s unhinged antics to life, all set to a chaotic soundtrack composed to give any player a full cardio workout.

Forget about pirates with a hook for a hand. This one has a double-barreled shotgun.

According to the press release, they are just getting started with the demo version and plan to update with even more explosive gameplay before launch.

Meet The Scallywags

With only the Atlantic Ocean between them, UK-based Silver Lining Interactive and Ciaran Games in the US have forged a bond based on a passion for indie games and scratching players’ itch for retro experiences. Silver Lining is behind a long list of titles including Spirit of the North 2, Cattle Country, Outbound, and Caravan SandWitch.

Captain Wayne: Vacation Desperation will be the two companies first joint venture, and Ciaran Games first title.
