Terrifier: The ARTcade Game Collector’s Edition is Now Available

Fans of blood and guts soaked gore can get their fill in the Terrifier: The ARTcade Game Collector’s Edition now available on PC, all major consoles, and Nintendo Switch. Published by SelectaPlay and developed by Relevo, they promise a treat of pixelated carnage.

Art the Clown first appeared in two short films The 9th Circle (2008) and Terrifier (2011) before starting off on his own franchise with, again, Terrifier (2016) and the sequel Terrifier 2 (2022) with a third film currently in development.

“Step into the oversized, blood-splattered shoes of Art the Clown in this old-school, arcade-style beat ‘em up inspired by the most brutal horror games of the ‘80s and ‘90s,” the press release said.

Over-The-Top Multiplayer Mayhem

Up to four players can either team up and wreak havoc against the game or decide to end each other with an impressive arsenal of weapons that will turn enemies into a bloody pulp, including chainsaws, cleavers, and shotguns. Each character has their own finishing move that ends with a gory delight.

“But don’t expect a scripted scream-fest as Art carves his own path of chaos, gutting cops, mangling stunt performers, and terrorizing film sets with his signature blend of sadistic humor and nightmarish brutality.”

The game features multiple stages with different paths to get to the boss fight, all set to a chiptune soundtrack to complement the retro aesthetics. The game creators opted for cartoonish pixel art and fluid animations to capture the essence of the Terrifier movies.

A gore-fest of a game for fans of hyper-violence.

The Terrifier movies have garnished a cult following of horror fans who appreciate the extreme violence. David Howard Thornton’s silent performance of Art the Clown gives the character an eerily menacing layer.
