About this skin

How is a skin affected by its quality?

How does the rarity of a skin work?

Rarity identifies a skin's grade and helps distinguish its case-opening likelihood. Dragonfire is Covert, with a stated 0.32% chance from the Glove Case.

How much does SSG 08 | Dragonfire cost?

Short Description

SSG 08 | Dragonfire is a CS2 sniper rifle skin featuring a fire-breathing dragon across a bright orange-red body. Dark teal artwork, yellow flames and cream-colored teeth give it a detailed fantasy look. It suits players who prefer colorful weapon finishes over restrained designs. All exterior grades are available, alongside StatTrak™ and Souvenir versions.

Description

SSG 08 | Dragonfire gives the CS2 bolt-action sniper rifle a dense, illustrated Custom Paint Job. The weapon itself is a cost-effective option for early-round long-range shooting, with relatively low damage. Its finish centers on a monstrous dragon stretching across the body and rear stock. Orange-red surfaces and yellow flame details make the artwork stand out against the dark fittings. The dragon's blue-green coloring adds contrast without making the whole rifle uniformly bright. This combination suits fantasy-themed inventories and players who want prominent artwork on their sniper rifle. Professional ownership includes coldzera, device and FalleN, giving buyers recognizable examples of players who own the skin. Listings can be compared by exterior, exact float and available version rather than by the finish name alone.

History and Origin

SSG 08 | Dragonfire was released in CS:GO on November 28, 2016. It arrived with the Glove Case in the "Glove Case Skins" update. Puffin, a Steam Workshop community designer, created the finish. The skin belongs to The Glove Collection, which also provides its trade-up route. Valve retired the rare drop pool on December 17, 2025, ending new Glove Case drops. Existing cases remain available to buy on the market and open despite that retirement. Trade Up Contracts offer another route to creating the skin through Classified inputs from its collection. Buyers today can also acquire finished copies through marketplaces or player trades, separately from the case-opening route introduced at release.

Finish Style

Dragonfire uses a Custom Paint Job built around a monstrous dragon breathing fire. Bright orange-red covers the receiver and forward body, accompanied by yellow flames and dark linear markings. The dragon stretches across the central body and rear stock in dark teal, blue-green and black. A pale eye and large cream-colored teeth stand out within the darker creature artwork. Orange and yellow accents run through the illustration, while the buttstock has a vivid red-orange end panel. The grip carries muted gray-green patterning that differs from the fiery main body. The scope, muzzle, bipod and much of the barrel remain dark gray and mostly plain. That separation between decorated surfaces and dark fittings gives the dense artwork a clear visual frame.

Float Value

The SSG 08 | Dragonfire float value ranges from 0.00 to 0.50. Available exteriors are Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred, with no exterior tier missing. StatTrak™ and Souvenir versions are also available, so version choice should be considered separately from cosmetic condition.

Rarity and Popularity

SSG 08 | Dragonfire has the Covert rarity grade. Its stated chance from the Glove Case is 0.32%, making a targeted case opening uncertain. Ownership by coldzera, device and FalleN provides a concrete professional connection, but does not establish current buying demand.

Why it’s Popular:

• Detailed dragon artwork with a strong fantasy theme

• Orange-red flames contrasted with dark teal coloring

• All exterior grades available for comparison

• StatTrak and Souvenir options for different collecting preferences

Price Range

The live SSG 08 | Dragonfire price range is $86.33 to $370.00. These bounds cover the whole skin, not a particular exterior or version. Compare exterior condition and exact float when assessing individual listings within that range. Standard, StatTrak and Souvenir versions are separate options, so check the version before treating listings as equivalent. When comparing a CS2 skin price, inspect the pictured finish alongside the listing details rather than choosing on price alone.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open the Glove Case

Open an existing Glove Case for a chance at Dragonfire, with a stated chance of 0.32%. The case no longer drops, but existing cases can still be bought on the market and opened.

3. Trade Up Contracts

A Trade Up Contract uses 10 Classified skins from The Glove Collection to produce 1 Covert skin from that collection. Dragonfire is a possible result, but the outcome is random among the collection's Covert skins.

4. Buy on the Steam Community Market

Buy a listed Dragonfire on the Steam Community Market to select a specific copy instead of opening a case. Check its exterior, float and version before comparing it with other listings.

5. Trade with Other Players

Trade with other players to exchange items for an existing Dragonfire. Confirm the exact skin, exterior, float and version in the offered item before accepting the exchange.

Trading and Investment Considerations

Glove Case retirement limits fresh case supply, but existing case openings and trade-up contracts can still create Dragonfire copies. Professional ownership supports its visibility, while sustained demand and price trends remain uncertain. Before deciding to buy, sell or trade, compare like-for-like versions and exteriors rather than assuming every listing serves the same buyer.

Reasons it Holds Value

• Retired Glove Case limits fresh case supply

• Covert rarity and a low case-opening chance

• Professional ownership includes coldzera, device and FalleN

• Distinctive dragon artwork gives the finish a recognizable identity

The editorial investment rating is medium, supported by Covert rarity, professional ownership and the retired case source. The main risk is uncertain buying demand alongside continued skin creation through existing cases and trade-up contracts. These factors support a measured assessment, not an expectation of returns.
