Skeleton Knife | Case Hardened

The ★ Skeleton Knife | Case Hardened is a CS2 knife skin with a multicolored metallic blade and a dark, wrapped handle. Pale gold and silver mix with blue, purple and pink patches around its distinctive skeletonized shape. The finish suits players who prefer irregular metallic colors paired with a restrained grip. It comes in every exterior, with standard and StatTrak™ versions available.

Description

The ★ Skeleton Knife | Case Hardened applies a Patina finish to the Skeleton Knife's exposed metal surfaces in CS2. Its skeletonized tang and large circular finger opening give the weapon a distinctive outline. The opening allows a finger to pass through for added stability and safety. Tape wrapped around the handle provides grip while leaving the metal at its end visible. Across the blade, pale metallic tones contrast with patches of blue, purple and pink. This combination suits loadouts built around metallic colors without carrying the same brightness onto the grip. Buyers can choose from Factory New through Battle-Scarred rather than being limited to a narrow selection of exteriors. Individual listings are worth comparing by float value, standard or StatTrak version, and the visible distribution of colors.

History and Origin

The ★ Skeleton Knife | Case Hardened was released on November 18, 2019, during the Operation Shattered Web update. Its original case source was the Shattered Web Case, establishing the opening route available at release. Valve created the skin rather than a community designer. The Fracture Case is another source containing this knife and finish. Valve retired the rare drop pool on December 17, 2025, ending new drops for both source cases. As of October 9, 2026, neither the Shattered Web Case nor the Fracture Case drops. Existing cases can still be bought on the market and opened, so case retirement has not removed that acquisition route. Existing knife copies can also be purchased on the Steam Community Market or obtained through player-to-player trades.

Finish Style

Case Hardened uses the Patina finish style, giving the exposed metal a mottled, multicolored appearance. Wood charcoal and high-temperature treatment produce the case-hardened coloration. Pale gold and silver cover much of the blade face, providing the base for its irregular patches. Blue, purple and pink appear near the tip and along the upper edge. The multicolored finish also surrounds the large circular finger hole and reaches the exposed handle end. Four small circular holes run along the lower blade area toward the finger opening. Dark charcoal bands wrap the handle, with visible overlapping seams giving the grip a separate texture. The mostly plain wrapping contrasts with the varied metal colors, keeping the grip visually distinct from the blade and exposed handle sections.

Float Value

The ★ Skeleton Knife | Case Hardened has an exact float range of 0.00 to 1.00. Its available exteriors are Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred, with none of these exterior categories excluded. Standard and StatTrak versions are available; version availability is separate from an individual copy's cosmetic condition.

Rarity and Popularity

The ★ Skeleton Knife | Case Hardened has the Covert rarity grade. Its drop chance from the Shattered Web Case is 0.0049%, which should not be treated as a confirmed probability for the Fracture Case. Professional players n0thing and DANK1NG own this skin.

Why it’s Popular:

• Multicolored metallic blade with a contrasting dark grip

• Distinctive skeletonized shape and circular finger opening

• Every exterior offers a different condition choice

• StatTrak availability for players who prefer that version

Price Range

The live CS2 skin price range for ★ Skeleton Knife | Case Hardened is $195.97 to $1,493.92. These bounds cover the whole skin, not a fixed exterior or version. Factory New through Battle-Scarred listings should be checked alongside their exact float values when comparing cosmetic condition. Standard and StatTrak copies are separate options, so buyers should confirm which version a listing contains. Before deciding where to buy, compare the asking price with the listing's exterior, float and visible color placement.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open a Weapon Case

Open a Shattered Web Case or Fracture Case for a chance at this knife. Neither case still drops, but existing cases can be bought on the market and opened. The Shattered Web chance is 0.0049%, so opening a case does not ensure this specific result.

3. Buy on the Steam Community Market

Buy an existing copy through the Steam Community Market when a suitable listing is available. Check its exterior, float and StatTrak status, and inspect the visible finish before selecting a listing.

4. Trade with Other Players

Obtain the knife through a player-to-player trade for an existing copy. Review the offered item's exterior, float and version, then inspect its metallic color placement before agreeing to the exchange.

Trading and Investment Considerations

Both source cases have stopped dropping, but opening existing cases can still add knife copies to circulation. Players looking to buy, sell or trade should compare exterior, exact float, StatTrak status and visible finish rather than treating all copies as interchangeable. Professional ownership provides visibility, but current buyer demand and resale speed remain uncertain.

Reasons it Holds Value

• Both source cases have stopped dropping

• Ownership by professional players n0thing and DANK1NG

• Distinctive metallic finish and skeletonized knife shape

• Standard and StatTrak versions offer separate buying options

The editorial investment rating is medium, reflecting retired source cases and ownership by professional players. Existing cases can still produce additional copies, so the knife's circulating supply is not fixed. Uncertain demand and resale speed are the main risks, making purchase cost and cosmetic preference important considerations without implying future returns.
