Razer Slice Open Game Development With WYVRN
Renowned gaming peripheral brand Razer has taken its first step into the world of AI-powered game development with WYVERN. This is a comprehensive set of tools designed for gamers, incorporating Razer AI Tools, Sensa HD Haptics, Razer Chroma RGB, and THX Spatial Audio, and is available for integration with Unreal Engine.
Microsoft isn’t the only gaming-related company getting into the copilot area, as Razer also incorporates AI gamer and Quality Assurance copilots into the WYVRN SDK (software development kit). Together with the above core features, Razer is promising an enhanced development workflow.
“WYVRN is a comprehensive ecosystem designed to streamline workflows, enhance creativity, and elevate player immersion,” the company said in an official press release.
“Revolutionize your workflow with the AI QA Copilot, empowering developers to scale their QA testing with automated, high-quality tests. Unleash the potential of your games with the AI Game Copilot, offering in-game guides and real-time esports coaching,” it added on WYVRN’s official website.
Core Features
Aside from the AI copilots, Razer have added Sensa HD Haptics, which basically means that game developers can code appropriate haptic feedback (vibration) into games that Razer’s products can react to. This is already available in 90+ racing titles, such as the Assetto Corsa franchise.
Razer Chroma RGB is also included in WYVRN, which allows for custom lighting effects in relevant peripherals to further immerse players in a game. Immersion is also furthered by the THX Spatial Audio+ plug-in, which enables 7.1.4 THX 3D soundscape audio over headphones.
Multiple top games companies, such as Rebellion, Square Enix, and Warner Bros, have already used WYVRN in their titles. Indie devs can get in on the action as long as they own Unreal Engine version 5.5, as WYVRN can be enabled within this software.
