Flip Knife | Rust Coat

★ Flip Knife | Rust Coat is a CS2 knife skin with a Patina finish built around visible corrosion. Its curved gray blade carries orange-brown rust patches, paired with a muted olive-green handle. The weathered appearance suits players who prefer subdued equipment over colorful artwork. It comes in Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred, with regular and StatTrak™ versions available.

Description

★ Flip Knife | Rust Coat applies a deliberately weathered finish to the Flip Knife in CS2. Corrosion replaces decorative paint as the central visual feature, giving the weapon a rough, utilitarian character. The palette combines dull gray metal, orange-brown rust and a dark olive-green grip without introducing bright accent colors. A lighter cutting edge provides contrast against the irregular patches covering the blade's face. This look suits muted loadouts and players who want visible texture rather than lettering or illustrated panels. Its flavor text connects surface scars with character, reinforcing the finish's worn appearance. Regular and StatTrak™ versions are available, giving buyers a choice of versions. Buyers can compare exterior, exact float and listing images before choosing a copy to equip, collect or trade.

History and Origin

The knife was released in CS:GO on January 8, 2015. It arrived through the Chroma Case in the Chroma Case Skins update. Valve created the finish, rather than a community designer. The Chroma 2 Case and Chroma 3 Case also provide case-opening routes to this knife. Valve retired the rare drop pool on December 17, 2025. As of October 9, 2026, none of these Chroma cases receive new drops. Existing cases remain available to buy on the market and open, so retirement did not remove the case-opening route. Existing knife copies can also be purchased through marketplaces or acquired through player trades, independently of opening those containers.

Finish Style

Rust Coat uses a Patina finish, making surface corrosion the main design feature rather than a painted illustration. The Persian-style, back-swept blade has an acute point and a dull gray face covered in uneven orange-brown rust. A paler gray band follows the cutting edge, separating it visually from the mottled areas across the blade. Short serrations appear close to the handle, adding detail around the blade's base. The grip has an olive-green base interrupted by darker marks, keeping its colors subdued beside the rust. Long recessed grooves run along the handle, while fine dotted textures appear at its ends. Silver-gray screws and a slim inset slot near the pivot add mechanical detail against the darker grip. No visible artwork or lettering competes with the irregular surface texture, leaving the blade's corrosion and handle details to define the look.

Float Value

The float value range for ★ Flip Knife | Rust Coat is 0.40 to 1.00. It is available only in Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred, with no Factory New, Minimal Wear or Field-Tested exterior. Regular and StatTrak™ versions are available, but there is no Souvenir version; version availability is separate from the knife's cosmetic condition.

Rarity and Popularity

★ Flip Knife | Rust Coat has Covert rarity, a classification that stays the same regardless of its exterior condition. Its chance from the Chroma Case is 0.0085%, making that particular case-opening outcome unlikely. Direct marketplace purchases and player trades provide access to existing copies without relying on that opening result.

Why it’s Popular:

• Orange-brown corrosion gives the blade a distinctive weathered identity

• Muted colors suit subdued loadouts

• Grooved olive handle adds detail without decorative artwork

• Regular and StatTrak™ versions offer buyers a choice

Price Range

The live ★ Flip Knife | Rust Coat price range is $106.39 to $290.99. These bounds cover the whole skin, not a fixed exterior or version. Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred listings are available in regular and StatTrak™ versions, so comparisons should match those attributes. Within an exterior, check the exact float value and item image before deciding whether an asking price suits the desired look. When comparing CS2 skin prices to buy or sell, keep the version and condition visible rather than treating every Rust Coat listing as interchangeable.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open a Weapon Case

Opening a Chroma Case, Chroma 2 Case or Chroma 3 Case can yield this knife. These cases no longer drop, but existing containers can still be bought on the market and opened. The 0.0085% chance applies to the Chroma Case, making an opening an uncertain route to this particular finish.

3. Buy on the Steam Community Market

The Steam Community Market offers a direct way to buy an existing copy instead of pursuing a case-opening result. Check whether the listing is regular or StatTrak™, and select the intended exterior. Only Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred are available, so a listing labeled with another exterior would not match this skin.

4. Trade with Other Players

Player-to-player trading provides another route to an existing copy of the knife through an exchange of items. Before accepting, verify the full item name, exterior, exact float and StatTrak™ status so the received knife matches the intended Rust Coat copy.

Trading and Investment Considerations

The source cases no longer receive new drops, so their supply is not replenished through that route, although remaining cases can still produce knives. Demand strength and long-term price direction remain uncertain, making a short-term flip difficult to justify on retirement alone. Compare regular and StatTrak™ listings within the same exterior, then inspect float and appearance before buying, selling or proposing a trade.

Reasons it Holds Value

• Retired source cases receive no new drops

• Covert knife rarity

• Distinctive corrosion-focused finish

• Regular and StatTrak™ options

The editorial investment rating is medium, supported by retired case sources and Covert rarity but tempered by uncertain future demand. Existing cases can still yield additional copies, so case retirement does not fix the number of knives in circulation. Its supply background supports consideration as a hold, but it does not establish future price growth.
