Flip Knife | Freehand

The ★ Flip Knife | Freehand is a CS2 knife skin with a curved blade covered in black, purple, and silver-colored artwork. Dense metallic markings give the blade a doodled appearance, while the dark handle keeps the overall palette restrained. It suits players who prefer intricate blade artwork and purple accents over a plain finish. All exteriors from Factory New to Battle-Scarred are available, including StatTrak™ versions.

Description

The ★ Flip Knife | Freehand is a Covert CS2 knife skin using the Anodized Multicolored finish style. Its Persian-style blade sweeps backward into a sharp point, giving the artwork a curved surface to follow. Black and purple form the background for dense silver-colored lines, curls, and angular shapes. The bright markings make the blade the visual focus, contrasting with the comparatively plain handle. Purple accents around the pivot and handle ends connect the separate parts of the design. This combination suits players building a dark loadout who still want a visibly detailed knife. Buyers can choose Factory New through Battle-Scarred exteriors, with standard and StatTrak versions offering different ownership options. When comparing listings, exterior, exact float value, and version are useful distinctions beyond the finish name alone.

History and Origin

The ★ Flip Knife | Freehand was released on June 15, 2016, alongside the Gamma Case. Its introduction came through the "Gamma Case Skins" update during the CS:GO era. Valve created the finish rather than selecting a community designer's submission. The Gamma 2 Case is another case that can contain this knife finish. Valve retired the rare drop pool on December 17, 2025, ending new drops for both source cases. As of October 9, 2026, neither the Gamma Case nor the Gamma 2 Case drops in-game. Existing cases remain available to buy on the market and can still be opened for a chance at the skin. Current acquisition also includes buying an existing knife through a marketplace or arranging a player-to-player trade, separate from its original case release.

Finish Style

Freehand uses an Anodized Multicolored finish with metallic decoration over a black-and-purple blade. The dark base remains visible between the closely packed silver-colored markings, keeping purple patches within the busy composition. Irregular lines run alongside angular shapes rather than forming a simple stripe or uniform geometric repeat. Curls and small doodle-like forms add a loose, hand-drawn character to the artwork. These markings extend across most of the curved blade and continue toward its pointed tip. The handle is dark gray-green, providing a quieter surface beside the densely decorated metal. Recessed diagonal grooves structure the grip, while a dotted texture appears near its rounded end. Purple details around the pivot and handle ends echo the blade's background without covering the handle in the same dense artwork.

Float Value

The ★ Flip Knife | Freehand has a float value range of 0.00 to 0.48. Its available exteriors are Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, and Battle-Scarred, so no exterior category is missing. Standard and StatTrak versions are available, but there is no Souvenir version; those version choices are separate from the cosmetic condition represented by exterior and float.

Rarity and Popularity

The ★ Flip Knife | Freehand belongs to the Covert rarity grade. Its chance of being obtained from the Gamma Case is 0.0085%, which should not be treated as a stated probability for the Gamma 2 Case. Aerial owns the skin, providing a professional-player ownership connection without establishing broader demand.

Why it’s Popular:

• Dense silver-colored artwork gives the curved blade a detailed focal point

• Black and purple suit dark, color-coordinated loadouts

• A restrained handle balances the busy blade pattern

• Standard and StatTrak versions offer different ownership options

Price Range

The live ★ Flip Knife | Freehand price range is $113.81 to $419.05. These bounds cover the whole skin rather than a particular exterior or version. Exterior and exact float help distinguish individual listings within that range. Standard and StatTrak listings should be compared separately, without assuming either version always carries a fixed premium. For a useful CS2 skin price comparison before buying, selling, or trading, buyers should match the version and condition rather than rely only on the headline range.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open a Weapon Case

Opening a Gamma Case or Gamma 2 Case offers a chance to obtain this knife. Neither case receives new drops, but existing cases can still be bought on the market and opened. The stated chance for this specific skin from the Gamma Case is 0.0085%, so opening one does not ensure that result.

3. Buy on the Steam Community Market

The ★ Flip Knife | Freehand can be bought through the Steam Community Market. Buyers should check the listed exterior and whether the item is standard or StatTrak, then compare those details with the version they intend to purchase.

4. Trade with Other Players

A player-to-player trade is another route to acquiring an existing copy of the knife. The offered item's exterior, exact float, and StatTrak status should be checked before agreeing to an exchange. Those details help distinguish otherwise similarly named copies when assessing a trade.

Trading and Investment Considerations

Both source cases have stopped dropping, although opening existing cases can still add copies of the skin to circulation. Aerial's ownership gives the finish a professional-player connection, but it does not demonstrate broad market demand or a rising price trend. Buyers and sellers should compare matching exteriors, exact floats, and standard versus StatTrak versions instead of assuming every copy has the same trading profile.

Reasons it Holds Value

• No new Gamma Case or Gamma 2 Case drops

• Valve-designed metallic artwork with a distinctive purple palette

• Professional-player ownership by Aerial

• Standard and StatTrak versions broaden the available choices

The ★ Flip Knife | Freehand receives a medium investment rating, balancing retired case sources with limited evidence of broader demand. Its detailed finish and Aerial's ownership support its appeal, but neither establishes future price growth. The main risk is that existing case openings can continue adding skins while buyer demand and resale prices remain uncertain.
