Deadly Quiet Takes Players Into The Infamous Hoia Baciu Forest
Deadly Quiet is a horror survival game slated for release on April 15, 2025, by Galactic Crows, a small indie games studio based in Romania, specializing in the horror genre. Heed the advice of Elmer Fudd and be “vewy, vewy, quiet,” or the entire 4-player co-op team will be put at risk.
The game takes place in the infamous Hoia Baciu forest, rumored to be a hotbed for paranormal activity, and is seen through the lens of a body cam to add to the unsettling atmosphere. According to a press release, survival hinges on teamwork, strategic decisions, and the ability to adapt to the unpredictable horrors that lurk within the forest.
“Every step you take and every sound you make could draw attention to your group, so staying quiet isn’t just advice, it’s your lifeline,” the press release said.
Borrowing From Horror Movie Tropes
The story is riddled with tropes from horror movies such as being part of a group of friends away on a camping trip, being involved in a car accident, and getting stranded in a hostile environment where pretty much everything in the surroundings is lethal.
Alas, there is hope. Working together is the only way to stay alive and reach the nearby town of Cluj, where apparently everything is safe. There’s also an element of lost footage as the entire game is viewed through the lens of a bodycam.
Other Notable Titles From Galactic Crows
Founded by Tarba Paul Cornel, Galactic Crows is a prolific games studio with a few notable horror genre titles under their belt. Psychopathy Assessment is a retro-style analog game inspired by 1980s VHS. In Psychopath Massacre, players have to use a VHS camera to navigate and survive.
All in all the studio has released four games since 2022, with Deadly Quiet slated to become the fifth.
