Medieval RPG Bellwright Headed to Xbox
Donkey Crew and Snail Games USA are bringing Bellwright, a medieval RPG and base building game, to Xbox towards the end of 2025. It’s already available on PC in Early Access.
Framed for murdering the Prince and sentenced to death, players take on the role of a character who’s been living in the shadows ever since. Then, a failed assassination attempt on the player’s character raises more questions as to why and who could have framed them, and what it has to do with the character’s family.
“Slowly but surely, you will lead a rebellion against your homeland’s oppressive Sovereign to victory, uncovering the truth of your family’s secret along the way,” said the developer on the game’s official page. “The bells shall ring for freedom once again!”

Build an Army
Bellwright tasks players with forging alliances and building up a settlement. As the player grows in power and levels up, so too do their followers. The game also incorporates survival mechanics as players need to explore the world and find resources, not just for them but for their followers.
Plus, players can liberate villages from the oppressive reign of the Crown, growing their own army in the process. New followers will help players build, manage, and upgrade their own outposts and towns. It’s also possible to organize workers and get them trained up into formidable warriors.
Uncover The Truth
Along the way, players can also follow quests and clues as to why they were framed for murder in the first place. The move to Xbox is also bringing new areas for players to explore and uncover secrets, including what looks to be Saracen soldiers and exotic lands.
Players on PC can also expect more content updates in the near future, including animal husbandry skills, fishing, and even the ability to add a library to settlements.
Donkey Team is based in Poland and was formed from fans of the medieval RPG Mount And Blade. Bellwright is their first game.
Snail Games USA is the publisher behind several titles, most notably the dinosaur survival MMO Ark: Survival Ascended.
