About this skin

How is a skin affected by its quality?

Quality identifies the exterior tied to a skin's float value. Directive ranges from 0.06 to 1.00 and is available in Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, and Battle-Scarred.

How does the rarity of a skin work?

Rarity is a skin's grade and relates to its chance of appearing from a case. Directive is Restricted, with a 3.2% chance from the Gamma 2 Case; this is separate from its exterior condition.

How much does Desert Eagle | Directive cost?

Desert Eagle | Directive ranges from $1.01 to $156.64. The range covers the whole skin; compare each listing's exterior, float, and version.

Which case contains Desert Eagle | Directive?

Desert Eagle | Directive comes from the Gamma 2 Case. The case no longer drops, but existing cases can still be bought on the market and opened.

Does Desert Eagle | Directive have StatTrak and Souvenir versions?

Yes, Desert Eagle | Directive is available in both StatTrak and Souvenir versions. Compare the version separately from the exterior and float value when choosing a listing.

Can Desert Eagle | Directive be obtained through a trade-up?

Yes, 10 Mil-Spec Grade skins from The Gamma 2 Collection can produce 1 Restricted skin from the same collection. Directive is a possible outcome, but the result is random.

Short Description

Desert Eagle | Directive is a CS2 pistol skin with dark metallic surfaces and blue-teal accents. Its segmented slide, geometric markings, and grooved grip create a densely detailed mechanical look. The finish suits players building a dark loadout with restrained color highlights. All listed exterior grades are available, alongside StatTrak™ and Souvenir versions.

Description

Desert Eagle | Directive brings a dark, mechanical design to the powerful Desert Eagle pistol in CS2. Black and dark gray surfaces establish the main palette, while blue-teal accents outline parts of the upper assembly. Its design draws on a futuristic law-enforcement theme rather than a bright decorative motif. The weapon itself combines substantial power with long-range accuracy, though mastering it takes practice. Rectangular panels and narrow grooves give the slide a segmented appearance that rewards a closer inspection. This look suits players who prefer detailed metalwork without large areas of vivid color. Regular, StatTrak, and Souvenir versions offer different collecting options without changing the identity of the Directive finish. Buyers can compare exterior, float value, and version when choosing a copy for a loadout or collection.

History and Origin

The Directive finish was released in CS:GO on August 18, 2016. It arrived with the Gamma 2 Case through the "Gamma 2 Case Skins" update. The skin belongs to The Gamma 2 Collection, linking its original case release with its trade-up route. Steam Workshop community designer Millenia created the finish. Valve retired the rare drop pool on December 17, 2025. As of October 9, 2026, the Gamma 2 Case no longer drops, so newly dropped cases do not replenish its supply. Existing cases can still be bought on the market and opened, keeping the original acquisition route available. Today, direct purchases, player trades, and eligible trade-up contracts provide alternatives to opening a case.

Finish Style

Directive uses the Patina finish style, with a predominantly dark metallic appearance. The slide and barrel housing combine black with deep metallic gray, creating a subdued upper section. Blue-teal highlights run along the top and edges, adding color without dominating the design. Thin horizontal grooves divide the slide alongside rectangular panels and small geometric markings. At the rear, blue-teal vertical ridges sit beside the dark sight assembly. The frame and trigger guard remain mostly black, continuing the restrained palette below the slide. Horizontal grooves and two circular details distinguish the grip from the surrounding frame. Bright silver accents around the trigger area and grip base provide contrast within the otherwise dark, densely detailed finish.

Float Value

The float value range is 0.06 to 1.00, covering Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, and Battle-Scarred. All of these exteriors exist, so buyers can compare the condition label with the exact float shown on each listing. StatTrak and Souvenir versions are also available, but version choice should be considered separately from cosmetic condition.

Rarity and Popularity

Desert Eagle | Directive has the Restricted rarity grade. Its chance of appearing from the Gamma 2 Case is 3.2%, so opening that case does not guarantee this particular pistol finish. Professional players Snax, kennyS, and Zeus have owned it, providing recognizable ownership examples without establishing broader market demand.

Why it’s Popular:

• Dark metallic colors with restrained blue-teal highlights

• Segmented slide detailing and small geometric markings

• Factory New through Battle-Scarred exterior choices

• StatTrak and Souvenir collecting options

Price Range

The live Desert Eagle | Directive price range is $1.01 to $156.64. These bounds cover the whole skin rather than a particular exterior or version. Exterior labels help organize listings, while exact float values distinguish copies within those condition categories. Regular, StatTrak, and Souvenir listings should be compared separately rather than treated as interchangeable purchases. For a useful CS2 skin price comparison, check the item version, exterior, float, and asking price together before deciding where to buy.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open the Gamma 2 Case

Open the Gamma 2 Case for a chance to receive Directive, with a listed probability of 3.2%. The case no longer drops, but existing cases can still be purchased on the market and opened.

3. Trade Up Contracts

A trade-up contract can exchange 10 Mil-Spec Grade skins from The Gamma 2 Collection for 1 Restricted skin from that collection. Directive is a possible result, but the outcome is random among the collection's Restricted skins.

4. Buy on the Steam Community Market

Buy Desert Eagle | Directive directly through the Steam Community Market instead of relying on a random case or contract result. Check the listing's exterior and version, then verify its float when comparing individual copies.

5. Trade with Other Players

Player-to-player trades offer a route to exchange other items for a Directive. Before accepting, confirm the full item name, exterior, float, and version against the copy being offered.

Trading and Investment Considerations

New Gamma 2 Cases no longer drop, but existing cases and trade-up contracts can still produce this finish. Ownership by named professionals provides visibility, not proof of consistent resale demand or a predictable price trajectory. Players planning to buy, sell, or trade should compare regular, StatTrak, and Souvenir copies by exterior and exact float.

Reasons it Holds Value

• No new Gamma 2 Case drops

• Ownership by Snax, kennyS, and Zeus

• StatTrak and Souvenir collecting options

• Distinctive dark metal and blue-teal styling

The investment rating is medium: retired case supply and recognizable professional ownership offer reasons to consider the skin. Trade-up contracts remain an acquisition route, while uncertain resale demand makes future price growth unsuitable as an assumption.
