We’re terribly sorry… We lied in our previous blog post about Warcraft III: Reforged launching in 2019. The Blizzard has announced that the game is nearing its testing phase but won’t make it in time. Instead, the company has decided to give themselves a few extra weeks and delayed the game until January 28th, 2020.

A new blog post on the official site clears the confusion and explains the reasons behind the delay:

“Though we’ve been working hard to get Reforged in your hands before the end of the year, as we started approaching the finish line, we felt we’d need a little extra development time for finishing touches. As always, our goal is to honor the high standards you hold us to.”

It’s never fun to hear news about the delay but we can forgive an additional month of waiting. Especially when it is available right now. Well, at least its old versions – Reign of Chaos and The Frozen Throne.

For the uninitiated, Warcraft III: Reforged is Blizzard’s developed recreation of the original game which will feature over 60 missions, complete visual overhaul, new map editor and many more awesome things. You can read about our expectations for the game here.
