Activision has finally revealed the first gameplay footage of their upcoming remix of the 2007 classic game. However, it wasn’t as smooth as publishers might’ve hoped for. At first, Activision held a special stream in which famous YouTubers were shown playing a new 2v2 multiplayer mode for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare called Gunfight. As expected, a lot of screams and jokes didn’t leave a good impression for the community.

The community later sent a request to the developer Infinity Ward asking to post raw gameplay. Infinity Ward was quick to respond and posted a 6-minute long video showing off Call of Duty: Modern Warfare gameplay captured in 4K without any additional sounds. Take a look:

The footage features the gameplay set in three different maps. Pine features the area full of trees, King is set in an industrial warehouse, while Stack is a map that features a labyrinth of shipping containers.

In addition to some maps, the footage also features a lot of weapons from the upcoming game. Players were able to see (and hear) some cool assault rifles, shotguns, pistols, snipers and other neat gadgets which will be a huge part of the game.

However, one thing we’ve noticed before remains true. The new Call of Duty will be a much slower game if you compare it with a couple of latest entries in the series. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare seems to be more grounded and tactical. Well at least in the Gunfight mode which has no respawns.

Infinity Ward is planning to premiere Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer gameplay on August 1st (alongside the first beta testing wave) where we can expect to see more traditional modes. The game should launch on October 25th for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
