Spilled! Offers Immediate Gratification And Relaxation

Eco-friendly gamers with a passion for marine life and clean waters can rest assured that there’s now a game which doesn’t require getting seasick or possibly bitten by a walrus. Independent game developer Lente from The Netherlands just announced that her wholesome clean-up game Spilled! will be available on PC from March 26, 2025.
Lente started working on Spilled! in 2022 after taking a break from school to pursue her lifelong dream of living on a boat, thus continuing the maritime lifestyle she grew up with as a child.
“Although progress was slow initially, the game began to gain traction. In early 2024, Lente’s Kickstarter campaign was a huge success, raising €31,600 – 316% of her original €10,000 euro goal,” the press release said.
“The tiny cozy indie game is now ready to achieve some big goals and already amassed over 65,000 wishlists thanks to a positively received demo.”

Key Game Features
Players will guide a tug-like looking boat around eight different areas with their own challenges. It can be anything from cleaning up oil spills, saving marine life, pushing plastics to a recycling center, retrieving lost items to other boats, to putting out wildfires or going magnet fishing.
Progress will be noticeable as the water gets cleaner the more waste has been removed. Rewards for completing an area can be used to upgrade the boat so it can handle bigger oil spills, increased storage space for oil, and greater speed to cover bigger areas.
More Than a Game
The game is quite small in size and can be completed in about 1 hour, but there are no time-limits and players can take as much time as they want.
Ultimately, Spilled(!) isn’t just a game about removing black blobs from an enclosed area on a computer screen, it’s about raising awareness about how we treat our oceans and the consequences thereof for marine life.
