MP5-SD | Gauss

MP5-SD | Gauss is a CS2 SMG skin with a Gunsmith finish that resembles an assembly of stamped steel parts. Dark gray panels and bright metal-like edges contrast with orange-copper accents on the magazine, grip, and stock. Its mechanical styling suits players who prefer detailed industrial finishes over simple color blocks. All exteriors are available, alongside StatTrak™ and Souvenir versions.

Description

MP5-SD | Gauss brings a custom-painted industrial look to the silenced MP5-SD SMG in CS2. The finish presents the weapon as a collection of fitted metal components, using seams, ribs, and recessed details to establish its character. A mostly dark receiver and suppressor keep the brighter silver-gray edges visually distinct. Orange-copper sections add contrast around the magazine, pistol grip, and narrow stock without replacing the subdued base palette. The integrated suppressor carries its own openings and bands, making it part of the design rather than an undecorated extension. This look suits players building a mechanically styled loadout or seeking a detailed weapon finish with restrained colors. Standard, StatTrak, and Souvenir versions give buyers different options beyond the exterior alone. When comparing copies, the useful distinctions are their version, exterior, exact float value, and visible presentation.

History and Origin

MP5-SD | Gauss was released on March 13, 2019, alongside the Prisma Case. Its debut formed part of the Prisma Case Skins update. Millenia created the finish as a Steam Workshop community designer. The skin belongs to The Prisma Collection, linking its case origin with a collection-based acquisition route. That collection also supports Trade Up Contracts using Mil-Spec Grade skins for a chance at this Restricted result. The Prisma Case stopped dropping after Valve retired the rare drop pool on December 17, 2025. Existing cases can still be bought on the market and opened, preserving the original case route despite the end of new drops. Today, existing copies can also be acquired through marketplace purchases or player-to-player trades, separately from opening a case.

Finish Style

The Gauss Gunsmith finish uses custom paint to suggest a weapon built from separate stamped-metal pieces. Dark gray and black dominate the receiver and suppressor, providing the foundation for the industrial palette. Silver-gray sections, panel seams, and bright metal-like borders divide those surfaces into smaller components. The fore-end combines tightly arranged ribs with rectangular recesses, giving it a layered mechanical appearance. Circular openings decorate the suppressor, while bands near its tip interrupt the long dark surface. Orange-copper areas extend across the curved magazine, ribbed pistol grip, and sections of the slender rear stock. Pale blue-gray touches on the upper receiver and suppressor introduce a quieter accent alongside the warmer coloring. The overall character comes from this busy arrangement of plates and grooves, rather than a single continuous graphic across the weapon.

Float Value

The MP5-SD | Gauss float value ranges from 0.00 to 1.00, covering its full span of cosmetic condition. Available exteriors are Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, and Battle-Scarred, so none of these exterior categories is excluded. StatTrak and Souvenir versions also exist, but version choice remains separate from the float value and exterior of an individual copy.

Rarity and Popularity

MP5-SD | Gauss has Restricted rarity, which identifies its grade rather than its exterior or cosmetic condition. Its chance of appearing from the Prisma Case is 3.2%, making a case opening a random acquisition route rather than a direct purchase. Professional players tarik, Hiko, and FL1T also own the skin.

Why it’s Popular:

• Stamped-steel styling gives the SMG a detailed industrial identity

• Orange-copper accents contrast with the dark receiver and suppressor

• Every exterior is available for different condition preferences

• StatTrak and Souvenir options broaden the choice of versions

Price Range

The live MP5-SD | Gauss CS2 skin price range is $0.43 to $8.92. These bounds cover the whole item, not fixed prices for a named exterior or version. Compare listings within the same exterior first, then check their exact float values and visible condition. Standard, StatTrak, and Souvenir copies should be considered separately when selecting a comparable listing. A low headline price is only useful when the copy also matches the version and condition being sought.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open the Prisma Case

Open the Prisma Case for a chance to receive the Gauss finish, with a 3.2% chance of obtaining this skin. No new Prisma Cases drop, but existing cases can still be bought on the market and opened. This route does not let buyers select the Gauss as their result.

3. Trade Up Contracts

A Trade Up Contract using 10 Mil-Spec Grade skins from The Prisma Collection produces a Restricted skin from that collection. MP5-SD | Gauss is a possible result, but the outcome is random among the collection's Restricted skins. The contract therefore offers a chance at the finish rather than a guaranteed alternative to buying it.

4. Buy on the Steam Community Market

Buy an existing MP5-SD | Gauss through the Steam Community Market instead of relying on a random case or contract result. Check the listing's exterior and version against the copy being sought. Standard, StatTrak, and Souvenir availability should be considered separately when comparing options.

5. Trade with Other Players

MP5-SD | Gauss can also be obtained by trading with another player who owns a copy. Check the offered item's exterior, float value, and version before agreeing to the exchange. A trade targets an existing skin, unlike a case opening or Trade Up Contract with a random result.

Trading and Investment Considerations

Prisma Case retirement ends new case drops, but unopened cases and collection trade-ups can still add Gauss copies to circulation. Its accessible price level and professional ownership provide reasons to consider it, without establishing sustained demand or a reliable price trend. Buyers, sellers, and traders should compare matching exteriors and versions, while treating future demand and price direction as uncertain.

Reasons it Holds Value

• Prisma Case retirement limits new case supply

• Ownership by professional players provides recognition

• Distinctive stamped-steel styling

• StatTrak and Souvenir versions offer additional collecting options

The editorial investment rating is medium, reflecting retired case drops, professional ownership, and an accessible price level. Existing cases and Trade Up Contracts can still produce copies, so case retirement does not make the skin's supply fixed. The main risk is uncertain demand, since its appearance and ownership record do not establish future price gains.
