About this skin

How is a skin affected by its quality?

How does the rarity of a skin work?

Rarity is a skin's classification and relates to its chance of appearing from a case. The G3SG1 | Flux is Classified, with a 1.07% chance from the Shadow Case.

How much does the G3SG1 | Flux cost?

The G3SG1 | Flux ranges from $5.48 to $242.65. Compare each listing's exterior, float and version.

Which case contains the G3SG1 | Flux?

The G3SG1 | Flux is contained in the Shadow Case. That case no longer drops, but existing cases can still be bought on the market and opened.

What exteriors does the G3SG1 | Flux have?

Yes, the G3SG1 | Flux is available in both StatTrak and Souvenir versions. Check the version separately from the exterior and float when comparing listings.

Short Description

The G3SG1 | Flux is a CS2 rifle skin with a metallic purple-and-silver Gunsmith finish. Large curved bands cross the receiver and stock, while charcoal sections give the design a restrained feel. It suits players building a purple-themed loadout without dense artwork or lettering. All exterior tiers are available, alongside StatTrak™ and Souvenir versions.

Description

The G3SG1 | Flux is a CS2 sniper rifle skin for the Terrorist side. Its Gunsmith finish pairs metallic purple panels with silver-gray shapes, giving the rifle a controlled contrast rather than a heavily illustrated surface. Broad curves extend across the receiver and stock, making the larger weapon sections central to the design. Charcoal areas around the barrel and lower fore-end keep the brighter paint from covering every component. The G3SG1 trades considerable movement speed for a higher firing rate than other sniper rifles. The look suits purple-themed loadouts and players who prefer flowing shapes to text or intricate graphics. Standard, StatTrak and Souvenir versions give buyers different options under the same finish name. When choosing a copy, compare its exterior, float value, version and visible finish instead of relying on the listing title alone.

History and Origin

The G3SG1 | Flux debuted on September 17, 2015, alongside the Shadow Case. Its release was part of the Shadow Case Skins update. EGO DEATH created the design as a Steam Workshop community designer. The skin belongs to The Shadow Collection, which also provides its collection-based trade-up route. Valve retired the rare drop pool on December 17, 2025, ending new Shadow Case drops. Previously obtained cases remain available to buy on the market and open, so retirement did not remove that acquisition route. Today, buyers can also obtain an existing copy through the Steam Community Market or a player-to-player trade. Trade Up Contracts offer another way to produce the skin, although their outcome is not guaranteed.

Finish Style

The Gunsmith finish combines metallic purple and silver paint with a layout built around broad, flowing shapes. Purple covers the receiver and upper fore-end, establishing the main color across the rifle's central sections. Silver-gray bands curve over the receiver and continue onto the purple stock, linking those surfaces visually. The lower fore-end and barrel use dark charcoal sections that contrast with the brighter body. Purple areas on the scope are interrupted by dark rings and gray mounts, carrying the palette onto the sight assembly. The magazine is mostly dark gray, with a muted purple face that echoes the surrounding paint. A nearly black pistol grip ends in a pale silver base, adding a smaller contrasting detail below the receiver. Large color blocks, rather than fine detailing or text, give Flux its restrained visual character.

Float Value

The G3SG1 | Flux has a float value range of 0.00 to 0.90. Available exteriors are Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred, so no exterior tier is excluded. StatTrak and Souvenir versions are also available, with version type remaining a separate consideration from a copy's exterior condition.

Rarity and Popularity

The G3SG1 | Flux is a Classified skin contained in the Shadow Case. Its case-opening chance is 1.07%, approximately 1 in 94 openings, so obtaining this specific finish is not guaranteed. Professional players TaZ, w0nderful and Polly have owned the skin, providing documented ownership without establishing current market demand.

Why it’s Popular:

• Metallic purple and silver suit coordinated loadouts

• Broad curved bands keep the design restrained

• Dark components balance the brighter painted surfaces

• StatTrak and Souvenir options offer different collecting choices

Price Range

The live G3SG1 | Flux price range is $5.48 to $242.65. These bounds cover the whole skin rather than a particular exterior or version. Exterior and float value help distinguish individual copies, so both matter when comparing listings to buy or sell. Compare StatTrak copies with matching versions, and check Souvenir status separately rather than treating every listing as interchangeable. For a useful CS2 skin price comparison, inspect the pictured finish and item details alongside the asking price.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open the Shadow Case

Buy an existing Shadow Case on the market and open it for a chance at Flux. The case no longer drops, but previously obtained cases can still be opened. The skin's opening chance is 1.07%, so this route does not guarantee the desired result.

3. Trade Up Contracts

A Trade Up Contract uses 10 Restricted skins from The Shadow Collection to produce 1 Classified skin from that collection. Flux is a possible result, but the outcome is random among the collection's Classified skins.

4. Buy on the Steam Community Market

The G3SG1 | Flux can be bought directly on the Steam Community Market without relying on a case opening. Check the listed exterior and version, and inspect the copy's float when that information is available.

5. Trade with Other Players

Player-to-player trades offer another way to obtain Flux by exchanging items with another holder. Confirm the exact skin, exterior, float and version before agreeing to the trade.

Trading and Investment Considerations

The end of new Shadow Case drops limits replenishment of case supply, while trade-ups remain another route to creating the skin. Standard, StatTrak and Souvenir copies should be compared separately when considering a purchase, sale or trade. Professional ownership gives Flux visibility, but current demand and price trends remain uncertain.

Reasons it Holds Value

• No new Shadow Case drops

• Distinctive purple-and-silver metallic design

• Documented professional player ownership

• StatTrak and Souvenir options for collectors

The investment rating is medium, supported by retired case supply, Classified rarity and documented professional ownership. These features make Flux worth considering as a collectible, but they do not establish reliable short-term resale opportunities. The main risk is uncertain buyer demand, with existing cases and trade-ups still able to add skins to circulation.
