What is WicReset Connect used for?

WicReset Connect is used to reset the waste ink counter / ink absorber counter in supported Epson and Canon printers.

The program works with many Epson and Canon printer models that display service messages related to the waste ink counter or ink absorber.

You can solve this problem by resetting the waste ink counter using WicReset Connect.

Epson and Canon printers count printhead cleaning cycles and printed pages. Based on this data, the printer estimates the amount of waste ink stored in the waste ink absorber. In many cases, the printer is blocked because the internal counter reached its limit, not because the absorber is physically full.

WicReset Connect allows you to reset this counter and continue using your printer.

You can repeat the reset attempt until the printer is successfully reset.

Important information for Canon printers

If you have a Canon printer, the printer must be placed into Service Mode before the reset. Without Service Mode, the Canon waste ink counter cannot be reset.

Canon Service Mode instructions:

1. Turn off the Canon printer.
2. Press and hold the STOP / CANCEL button.
3. Press and hold the POWER button.
4. Release the STOP / CANCEL button while still holding POWER.
5. While holding POWER, press and release STOP / CANCEL 5 times.
6. Release the POWER button.

For some Canon series:

• E / G / iB / MB / TR / TS series: press STOP / CANCEL 5 times
• MG series: press STOP / CANCEL 6 times
• MP series: press STOP / CANCEL 2 times

Some Canon G1411 / G2411 / G3411 models may have an additional PLUS (+) button. In that case, use the PLUS button at the beginning instead of RESET / STOP, then continue with the correct Service Mode procedure.

Very important:Before performing the reset, the printer LED in Service Mode must be steady / constantly lit.

If the LED is blinking, the printer has another active error. You must remove the other error first before resetting the waste ink counter. A common reason is an unrecognized ink cartridge.

Do not buy this key if:

• Your printer model is not supported.
• You have a Canon printer and cannot enter Service Mode.
• You want to reset the printer through Wi-Fi. USB connection is required.
• Your printer has a different hardware problem not related to the waste ink counter.
