Short Description

★ Ursus Knife | Stained is a CS2 knife skin with a silver-gray, mottled blade and a subdued survival-knife design. Cloudy staining contrasts with the blade's bright lower edge, while an olive-brown handle keeps the overall palette restrained. The look suits players who prefer neutral colors and textured metal over bright decoration. All exterior grades are available, alongside standard and StatTrak™ versions.

Description

★ Ursus Knife | Stained combines the Ursus Knife's angular blade profile with a mottled Patina finish in CS2. Its tanto-style shape and faceted blade give the stained metal a clearly defined silhouette. Full-tang construction and an impact pommel are part of the underlying weapon design, complementing its practical survival-knife appearance. The finish draws attention through irregular marks rather than vivid colors, making it suitable for a subdued loadout. Charcoal fittings and a muted olive-brown handle frame the silver-gray blade without competing with its busy surface. Standard and StatTrak versions give buyers a choice beyond cosmetic condition, while no Souvenir version exists. Its broad float range allows comparisons across every available exterior, rather than limiting buyers to a smaller selection of wear grades. When choosing a copy for play or trade, compare the exact float value, exterior, version and listing price together.

History and Origin

The knife was released on August 1, 2018, alongside the Horizon Case. Its debut formed part of the Horizon Case Skins update, establishing the original case route for obtaining this finish. Valve created the skin, rather than a community designer contributing it through a separate authorship route. The Danger Zone Case also contains this Ursus finish and remains another route through existing case inventory. Valve retired the rare drop pool on December 17, 2025, ending new drops for both source cases. Their drop status remained unchanged as of October 9, 2026, with neither case receiving new drops. Existing Horizon and Danger Zone cases can still be bought on the market and opened, so retirement did not remove the opening route. Today, buying an existing knife listing or trading with another player provides an alternative to obtaining it through a case.

Finish Style

Stained uses a Patina finish, with its surface treatment described as droplets of lemon and mustard applied to create irregular discoloration. The blade's main color is silver-gray, but its upper face appears darker than the bright lower edge. Cloudy patches spread across the metal, interrupted by rounded gray marks that give the surface a mottled character. These irregular forms make the blade visually busy without introducing a bright or strongly contrasting color scheme. A dark charcoal guard curves outward around the blade's base, creating a distinct boundary between the metal and handle. The handle is muted olive-brown, with rows of small dimples and curved recessed lines adding texture to its surface. A dark metal fitting caps the handle, continuing the restrained palette away from the stained blade. Together, the angular weapon shape, subdued fittings and uneven surface marks produce a practical-looking finish with visible texture rather than decorative artwork.

Float Value

The float value of ★ Ursus Knife | Stained ranges from 0.00 to 1.00, covering its full set of available exterior grades. Buyers can choose Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn or Battle-Scarred, with the exact float providing a more specific condition reference within an exterior. Standard and StatTrak versions are available, but there is no Souvenir version; version availability is separate from the copy's cosmetic condition.

Rarity and Popularity

★ Ursus Knife | Stained has the Covert rarity grade, which is separate from its exterior and float value. Its drop chance from the Horizon Case is 0.0049%, and that figure should not be applied to the Danger Zone Case. Both cases remain usable for openings from existing inventory, despite no longer dropping, while existing knives can be purchased or traded.

Why it’s Popular:

• Mottled silver-gray blade suits neutral-color loadouts

• Angular tanto profile gives the staining a defined shape

• Olive-brown handle and charcoal fittings keep the palette restrained

• All exterior grades and StatTrak versions offer buying options

Price Range

The live ★ Ursus Knife | Stained price range is $62.00 to $306.94. These bounds cover the whole skin, not a particular exterior or version. For a useful CS2 skin price comparison, check standard and StatTrak listings separately rather than assuming they share the same pricing. Exterior labels provide a starting point, while the exact float value and the pictured blade help distinguish individual copies. Buyers should compare matching options before choosing a listing, and sellers can use the same approach when assessing an asking price.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open a Weapon Case

Open a Horizon Case or Danger Zone Case for a chance to receive this knife, rather than a certain outcome. The drop chance for this knife from the Horizon Case is 0.0049%. Neither case receives new drops, but existing cases can still be bought and opened.

3. Buy on the Steam Community Market

Buy an existing ★ Ursus Knife | Stained listing through the Steam Community Market to select the knife directly instead of opening a case. Check the listed exterior and whether the copy is standard or StatTrak, then review its exact float where available.

4. Trade with Other Players

Trade with another player who owns the knife to obtain a specific existing copy. Before accepting, confirm the item name, exterior, float value and StatTrak status so the received knife matches the agreed trade.

Trading and Investment Considerations

Neither source case receives new drops, although openings of existing cases can still add knives to circulation. Compare standard and StatTrak copies by exterior and exact float before setting a buy, sell or trade target. Sustained demand and price history are not established, so reduced case supply alone does not demonstrate quick resale or future appreciation.

Reasons it Holds Value

• Neither source case receives new drops

• Very low Horizon Case opening chance

• Valve-created Patina finish with a subdued palette

• Standard and StatTrak options serve different buyer preferences

The editorial investment rating is medium: retired source-case drops and a low Horizon Case opening chance support the supply argument, but demand evidence is limited. The main risk is treating reduced case replenishment as proof of rising knife prices, especially while existing cases can still be opened.
