Gut Knife | Stained

The ★ Gut Knife | Stained is a CS2 knife skin with a silver-gray blade covered in irregular dark stains. Its Patina finish pairs cloudy metal with a reddish-brown, visibly grained handle. The muted look suits players who prefer weathered metal and simple detailing over bright colors. All exterior grades are available, alongside standard and StatTrak™ versions.

Description

The ★ Gut Knife | Stained brings a mottled Patina finish to the Gut Knife in CS2. The hooked blade profile and brighter cutting edge give its gray surface a distinct outline. A reddish-brown handle adds warm color without replacing the blade as the main visual focus. This combination suits neutral loadouts and players looking for a knife with an understated, stained-metal appearance. Professional player gob b is among its documented owners. Buyers can choose from the full exterior range and select either a standard or StatTrak version. Comparing float value and exterior helps distinguish cosmetic condition from the separate choice of a kill-counter version. Individual listing images are useful for checking the blade's visible stains and handle details before buying or arranging a trade.

History and Origin

The ★ Gut Knife | Stained debuted in CS:GO on August 14, 2013, with the CS:GO Weapon Case. Its release accompanied the Arms Deal update, establishing its origin before its availability in CS2. Valve created the skin, rather than a community designer. Other sources include eSports 2013 Case, Operation Bravo Case, CS:GO Weapon Case 2 and eSports 2013 Winter Case. It also appears in Winter Offensive Weapon Case, CS:GO Weapon Case 3 and Operation Phoenix Weapon Case. Further sources are eSports 2014 Summer Case, Operation Vanguard Weapon Case and Revolver Case. None of these cases receives new drops following the rare drop pool's retirement on December 17, 2025. Existing cases can still be bought and opened, while current owners can sell or trade the knife itself.

Finish Style

Stained uses the Patina finish style, giving the blade a chemically marked appearance rather than a flat painted surface. The treatment uses lemon and mustard applied to the metal to create the forced patina. Across the silver-gray blade, irregular cloudy stains form dark-gray patches with uneven shapes. The curved cutting edge appears brighter, contrasting with the darker upper blade and prominent gut hook. Small notches line the spine near the handle, adding detail to the blade's outline. The reddish-brown handle shows streaked grain interrupted by three circular metallic fasteners. A dark metal border frames the handle and continues around its rounded end, where a circular opening remains visible. Most of the surface detail sits on the mottled blade, keeping the overall design simple rather than densely decorated.

Float Value

The ★ Gut Knife | Stained has a float range of 0.00 to 1.00. Available exteriors are Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred, so no exterior grade is excluded. Standard and StatTrak™ versions are available, but there is no Souvenir version; version availability is separate from cosmetic condition.

Rarity and Popularity

The ★ Gut Knife | Stained carries the Covert rarity grade. Its specified chance from the CS:GO Weapon Case is 0.0039%, which applies to that acquisition route rather than market purchases. Its source cases no longer drop, but existing cases and player-owned copies remain routes to obtaining the skin.

Why it’s Popular:

• Cloudy silver-gray stains create a restrained metallic look

• Reddish-brown handle adds contrast without bright colors

• Distinctive gut hook gives the blade a recognizable outline

• Full exterior range and optional StatTrak support different preferences

Price Range

The live ★ Gut Knife | Stained price range is $47.93 to $1,047.39. These bounds cover the complete skin, not fixed prices for any particular exterior or StatTrak version. Compare listings by exterior, exact float and version before deciding which offer fits the intended loadout or budget. Standard and StatTrak copies are separate buying choices, so matching the version makes CS2 skin price comparisons more useful. Listing images also help buyers assess the visible finish rather than choosing solely from the exterior label and asking price.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open a Weapon Case

Open a compatible weapon case, such as the CS:GO Weapon Case, Operation Bravo Case or Revolver Case, for a chance at this knife. These source cases no longer drop, although existing cases can still be purchased and opened. The specified chance from the CS:GO Weapon Case is 0.0039%, so an opening does not assure this particular result.

3. Buy on the Steam Community Market

Buy ★ Gut Knife | Stained directly from an available listing on the Steam Community Market. Check the listed exterior and whether the item is standard or StatTrak before purchasing, then inspect the individual copy where possible.

4. Trade with Other Players

Obtain the knife through a player-to-player trade with an owner willing to exchange it. Confirm the exact item, exterior, float value and StatTrak status before accepting, rather than treating every Stained copy as interchangeable.

Trading and Investment Considerations

Retired source cases limit replenishment of unopened supply, but existing cases can still produce additional knives. Ownership by gob b is a concrete professional ownership example, not proof of broad demand or fast resale. Before buying, selling or trading, compare standard and StatTrak copies by exterior and float; long-term price trends and resale speed remain uncertain.

Reasons it Holds Value

• Retired source cases limit fresh case supply

• Documented professional ownership by gob b

• Standard and StatTrak versions offer distinct buying choices

• Full exterior range accommodates different cosmetic preferences

• Mottled blade and grained handle give it visual character

The editorial investment rating is medium, balancing retired source-case supply against continued availability through existing cases and player-owned copies. Its finish, version choices and documented professional ownership give buyers specific reasons to consider it, without establishing sustained demand. The main risk is uncertain resale timing and price direction, while case openings can still add more knives to circulation.
