Gut Knife | Freehand

★ Gut Knife | Freehand is a CS2 knife skin with black-and-purple blade coloring and dense metallic marker artwork. Its looping lines, angular shapes, and small face-like doodles contrast with a reddish-brown wooden grip. The design suits players who prefer detailed blade artwork over a uniform finish. It comes in every exterior, with standard and StatTrak™ versions available.

Description

★ Gut Knife | Freehand gives the CS2 Gut Knife an illustrated blade while preserving the weapon's distinctive hooked profile. The finish centers its visual detail on the blade rather than spreading the same artwork across the grip. Silver-white markings stand against a dark base, with purple patches adding color between the drawings. The reddish-brown handle creates a separate, more restrained area beneath the busy metal surface. This contrast suits loadouts that combine dark colors with a noticeable accent instead of relying on a single solid shade. Standard copies keep the choice focused on appearance, while StatTrak versions offer an additional option for buyers. The available exterior range lets players compare cosmetic condition without changing the underlying Freehand design. Before buying, the most useful listing checks are the exact exterior, float value, version, and visible finish.

History and Origin

★ Gut Knife | Freehand arrived in CS:GO on June 15, 2016, alongside the Gamma Case. Its introduction was part of the Gamma Case Skins update. Valve created the finish rather than a community designer. The Gamma 2 Case also offers an opening route to this knife, separate from its original release case. As of October 9, 2026, neither source case drops, following Valve's retirement of the rare drop pool on December 17, 2025. Existing Gamma Case and Gamma 2 Case supplies can still be bought on the market and opened. Today, buyers can also obtain an existing knife through the Steam Community Market or player-to-player trading.

Finish Style

Freehand uses the Anodized Multicolored finish style, with metallic-looking artwork giving the blade its illustrated character. Black and purple form the base beneath a dense layer of silver-white markings. Looping strokes sit alongside angular shapes, creating a deliberately irregular drawing rather than a repeating geometric layout. Small face-like doodles add detail among the larger lines and shapes. The artwork continues around the hooked tip, incorporating the Gut Knife's distinctive blade outline. Purple patches interrupt the lighter drawings, while the upper blade stays mostly dark with gray markings. The curved handle is reddish brown, with visible wood-grain streaks that contrast with the blade's illustrated surface. Three round metal fasteners punctuate the otherwise comparatively plain grip. A small patterned section extends beyond the handle and includes a circular hole, carrying some visual detail past the wooden area.

Float Value

The float value of ★ Gut Knife | Freehand ranges from 0.00 to 0.48. Available exteriors are Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, and Battle-Scarred, so none of the standard exterior categories is missing. Standard and StatTrak versions exist, but there is no Souvenir version; version availability is separate from cosmetic condition.

Rarity and Popularity

★ Gut Knife | Freehand has Covert rarity. Its opening chance from the Gamma Case is 0.0085%, making a specific Freehand result an uncertain acquisition route. Existing knives can also be bought or traded without depending on a case-opening result.

Why it’s Popular:

• Black-and-purple coloring with contrasting silver-white artwork

• Distinctive doodles around the Gut Knife's hooked blade

• Wood-grain grip balances the busy blade design

• Full exterior selection with an optional StatTrak version

Price Range

The live ★ Gut Knife | Freehand price range is $49.36 to $380.82. These bounds cover the whole skin rather than specific exteriors or versions. Individual listings can differ by exterior, exact float value, and whether the knife includes StatTrak. A matching exterior label does not replace checking the item's float and image. For a useful CS2 skin price comparison, compare equivalent variants before deciding which listing to buy.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open a Weapon Case

Open a Gamma Case or Gamma 2 Case for a chance to obtain this knife. Neither case drops anymore, but existing cases can still be bought on the market and opened. The Gamma Case chance for this specific skin is 0.0085%, so opening does not assure the desired result.

3. Buy on the Steam Community Market

The Steam Community Market offers a direct purchase route for an existing ★ Gut Knife | Freehand. Distinguish standard items from StatTrak versions when comparing listings. Check the specific item's exterior, float, and appearance rather than choosing solely by the finish name.

4. Trade with Other Players

An existing copy can also be obtained through a player-to-player trade. The relevant checks are the exact knife name, exterior, float value, and standard or StatTrak version. Confirm those details on the offered item before agreeing to exchange skins.

Trading and Investment Considerations

Retired Gamma cases limit replenishment of unopened case supply, although existing cases can still produce this knife. Players looking to buy, sell, or trade should compare exterior, float, and StatTrak status rather than treating every Freehand copy as interchangeable. Future demand and price direction remain uncertain, so restricted case supply alone does not establish a dependable resale opportunity.

Reasons it Holds Value

• No new drops from either source case

• Distinctive purple coloring and metallic blade artwork

• StatTrak availability adds another buying option

• Complete exterior range accommodates different condition preferences

The investment rating is medium: retired source cases constrain fresh case supply, but demand and future price direction remain uncertain. The main risk is that buyer interest may not strengthen enough to support higher resale prices, even as unopened cases are consumed.
