Gut Knife | Boreal Forest

★ Gut Knife | Boreal Forest is a CS2 knife skin that pairs a hooked blade with forest camouflage. Olive green, yellow-green and brown patches give the broad blade a mottled, outdoors-inspired appearance. The subdued palette suits players building a green or earth-toned loadout. It comes in Factory New through Battle-Scarred, with standard and StatTrak™ versions but no Souvenir edition.

Description

The ★ Gut Knife | Boreal Forest brings a camouflage finish to the Gut Knife's broad blade and distinctive hooked spine. Its Hydrographic finish emphasizes irregular color patches rather than a single flat shade. The muted gray-olive handle gives the busy blade a quieter visual counterpart. A narrow silver cutting edge adds a bright outline without dominating the green-and-brown palette. This design suits players who prefer utilitarian, nature-inspired equipment over a decorative knife finish. The visible lanyard hole and handle fasteners reinforce the knife's practical-looking character. Buyers can choose an exterior for condition and decide separately whether they want the StatTrak version. Comparing exact floats, item images and version labels helps distinguish individual CS2 listings before a purchase or trade.

History and Origin

Valve created this finish, which was released in CS:GO on August 14, 2013. It arrived in the Arms Deal update through the CS:GO Weapon Case, establishing the original case-opening route. Other compatible cases include the eSports 2013 Case, Operation Bravo Case and CS:GO Weapon Case 2. The eSports 2013 Winter Case, Winter Offensive Weapon Case and CS:GO Weapon Case 3 also contain the finish. Its case sources also include the Operation Phoenix Weapon Case, eSports 2014 Summer Case, Operation Vanguard Weapon Case and Revolver Case. Valve retired the rare drop pool on December 17, 2025. As of October 9, 2026, none of these source cases receives new drops. Existing cases remain available to buy and open, while an existing knife can be purchased directly or acquired through a player trade.

Finish Style

The Boreal Forest design uses Hydrographic forest camouflage across the blade, with uneven shapes that break up its broad surface. Olive green forms part of the main palette, alongside pale yellow-green and dark brown. Small brighter green patches add variation within the otherwise subdued colors. The camouflage extends over the hooked spine, keeping that distinctive section visually connected to the blade face. A thin, bright silver line marks the cutting edge and separates it from the mottled finish. The curved handle is mostly muted gray-olive, with subtle lighter streaks and three round fasteners. Camouflage remains visible along the handle edges and around the exposed end surrounding the lanyard hole. The result is a busy blade paired with a comparatively plain grip, making the shape and color placement central to its character.

Float Value

★ Gut Knife | Boreal Forest has a float value range of 0.06 to 0.80. Its available exteriors are Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred, so none of those condition categories is missing. There are standard and StatTrak versions, but no Souvenir version; the version label is separate from the exterior condition.

Rarity and Popularity

This Gut Knife finish has the Covert rarity grade. Its chance from the CS:GO Weapon Case is 0.0039%, which should not be treated as a confirmed rate for every compatible case. Professional players nettik and nawwk are documented owners, adding identifiable ownership context rather than proof of widespread demand.

Why it’s Popular:

• Forest camouflage in an understated, earth-toned palette

• Hooked blade silhouette with a contrasting silver edge

• Full exterior selection for different condition preferences

• Optional StatTrak version

Price Range

Live prices for ★ Gut Knife | Boreal Forest range from $38.92 to $213.58. Price differences can be substantial across exterior and StatTrak combinations, so the overall range is only a starting point. Factory New listings deserve a separate comparison from worn examples, particularly when the StatTrak version is involved. Check the exact float, exterior label and version together rather than assuming similarly named listings offer the same condition. Eneba Skins helps buyers compare CS2 skin listings before choosing which copy to buy.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open a Weapon Case

Open a compatible case, such as the CS:GO Weapon Case or Operation Bravo Case, for a chance at this knife. The listed source cases no longer drop, but existing cases can still be bought and opened. The CS:GO Weapon Case chance is 0.0039%, so an opening does not guarantee this finish.

3. Buy on the Steam Community Market

Buy an existing copy on the Steam Community Market instead of relying on a case opening. Search for the correct finish, then check the exterior and whether the listing is standard or StatTrak before buying.

4. Trade with Other Players

Trade with another player who owns this finish to acquire a specific copy rather than a random case result. Compare the offered item's exact float, exterior and StatTrak status, and confirm that those details match the agreed exchange.

Trading and Investment Considerations

No new drops replenish the source cases, but openings of existing cases can still add knives to circulation. Professional ownership provides some visibility, while broad demand, listing volume and price history remain uncertain. Anyone looking to buy, sell or trade should compare exterior, float and StatTrak status without assuming a quick resale.

Reasons it Holds Value

• Source cases no longer receive new drops

• Documented ownership by nettik and nawwk

• Standard and StatTrak options support different buyer preferences

• Valve-designed camouflage with an established release history

The editorial investment rating is medium, reflecting retired case sources, documented professional ownership and a broad choice of variants. Those factors support consideration as a hold, but they do not establish a reliable resale trend. The main risk is uncertain demand while existing case openings continue to add supply, so returns should not be assumed.
