About this skin

How is a skin affected by its quality?

Exterior quality reflects the skin's cosmetic condition, indicating how worn it appears based on its float value. This knife comes in Factory New through Battle-Scarred, while its Covert rarity and standard or StatTrak identity remain separate.

How does the rarity of a skin work?

Rarity is an assigned grade, separate from exterior condition. This knife is Covert and has a 0.0085% drop chance from the Spectrum Case; that chance does not describe availability in market listings.

How much does ★ Butterfly Knife | Ultraviolet cost?

The live range is $416.72 to $2,078.72. It covers the whole skin, so compare each listing's exterior, float and version.

What float range and exteriors does ★ Butterfly Knife | Ultraviolet have?

Its float range is 0.06 to 0.80. Available exteriors are Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred.

Which cases contain ★ Butterfly Knife | Ultraviolet?

The Spectrum Case and Spectrum 2 Case contain this knife. Neither case drops anymore, but existing cases can still be bought on the market and opened.

Does ★ Butterfly Knife | Ultraviolet have StatTrak versions?

StatTrak versions are available. Compare the version separately from exterior condition and float value when choosing a listing.

Short Description

The ★ Butterfly Knife | Ultraviolet is a CS2 knife skin with a charcoal-black blade and purple handle panels. Its solid-color finish keeps the folding knife's silhouette clear, without artwork or lettering. The restrained palette suits purple-themed inventories and players who prefer simple color blocking. All listed exterior grades are available, alongside standard and StatTrak™ versions.

Description

The ★ Butterfly Knife | Ultraviolet combines a balisong design with a subdued black-and-purple finish in CS2. Its freely pivoting blade produces the fan-like opening motion that defines the Butterfly Knife. The dark blade provides a neutral foundation, while the purple handle insets supply the main color accent. Black framing around those panels keeps the contrasting colors separated rather than covering the entire weapon in purple. This look suits players who want a coordinated knife without printed graphics or elaborate surface patterns. Professional players hades, DANK1NG and lauNX have owned the skin, giving it a supported presence in professional inventories. Buyers can compare standard and StatTrak versions across the available exteriors instead of treating every listing as interchangeable. The actual item image, float value and version all deserve attention alongside the CS2 skin price before a purchase or trade.

History and Origin

The ★ Butterfly Knife | Ultraviolet was released in CS:GO on March 15, 2017. It arrived with the Spectrum Case through the Spectrum Case Skins update. Valve created the finish, rather than a community designer. The Spectrum 2 Case also contains the knife, giving it another case-opening source. Valve retired the rare drop pool on December 17, 2025. As of October 9, 2026, neither the Spectrum Case nor the Spectrum 2 Case produces new case drops. Existing cases can still be bought on the market and opened, so their retirement does not remove that acquisition route. Today, the knife itself can also be purchased through marketplace listings or acquired through player-to-player trades.

Finish Style

Ultraviolet uses the Solid Color finish style, with individual parts painted in a black-and-purple palette. The curved blade appears dark charcoal black, with a thin, bright cutting edge outlining its shape. Both handle halves feature long purple inset panels rather than an uninterrupted purple coating. Black outer frames border those panels and preserve the darker outline of each handle. The pivots, circular holes and small fittings remain dark gray to black, blending with the surrounding hardware. Mostly smooth surfaces show subtle highlights along the blade and handle edges. There is no visible artwork or text competing with the color arrangement. The result is a clean, restrained finish whose visual identity comes from placement and contrast rather than a detailed printed pattern.

Float Value

The ★ Butterfly Knife | Ultraviolet has a float value range of 0.06 to 0.80. Available exteriors are Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred, so none of those exterior grades is excluded. Standard and StatTrak versions are available; version availability is separate from a copy's cosmetic condition.

Rarity and Popularity

The ★ Butterfly Knife | Ultraviolet belongs to the Covert rarity grade. Its drop chance from the Spectrum Case is 0.0085%, which should not be treated as a stated probability for the Spectrum 2 Case. Existing knives remain available through buying and trading, so the case-opening probability does not describe marketplace availability.

Why it’s Popular:

• Purple handle panels contrast clearly with the dark blade

• Restrained solid colors suit coordinated loadouts

• Butterfly Knife opening motion adds visual character

• Standard and StatTrak options support different collecting preferences

Price Range

The live ★ Butterfly Knife | Ultraviolet price range is $416.72 to $2,078.72. These bounds cover the whole skin, not a permanently assigned exterior or version. Exterior condition and float value are important distinctions when comparing listings, particularly when choosing between cleaner and more worn copies. Standard and StatTrak knives should be checked separately rather than assuming the counter creates a fixed price premium. Buyers comparing CS2 skin listings should inspect each item's image and details before deciding whether its asking price suits their intended loadout or collection.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open a Weapon Case

Open a Spectrum Case or Spectrum 2 Case for a chance to obtain this knife. Neither case drops anymore, but existing cases can still be bought and opened. The Spectrum Case chance for this specific skin is 0.0085%, so opening a case is not a certain way to acquire it.

3. Buy on the Steam Community Market

Buy an existing copy through the Steam Community Market instead of relying on a case result. Compare the listed exterior and whether the item is standard or StatTrak before choosing. This route allows selection of an available listing rather than receiving an uncertain case outcome.

4. Trade with Other Players

Acquire the knife through a player-to-player trade using items both parties agree to exchange. Check the offered knife's exterior, float value and StatTrak status before accepting. Trading transfers an existing copy, so it does not depend on either associated case continuing to drop.

Trading and Investment Considerations

With no new drops from either associated case, their remaining supply shrinks as existing cases are opened, although knives already obtained remain tradable. Professional ownership provides some visibility, but it does not establish current buyer demand, selling speed or a future price trend. Before deciding to buy, sell or trade, compare the exterior, exact float and standard or StatTrak version against relevant listings.

Reasons it Holds Value

• Both associated cases have retired drop supply

• Documented ownership by professional players

• Distinctive black-and-purple finish

• Standard and StatTrak collecting options

The editorial investment rating of medium-to-good should be treated cautiously, with retired case supply providing the holding rationale rather than professional ownership or a substantial purchase price. Retired case supply does not prove sustained demand or future appreciation. The main risk is committing significant funds without evidence of price momentum or how quickly a comparable copy will sell.
