About this skin

How is a skin affected by its quality?

Quality refers to the exterior condition associated with a skin's float value. The Autotronic spans Factory New to Battle-Scarred, so compare the exact float and item appearance alongside the exterior label.

How does the rarity of a skin work?

Rarity is a skin's grade and indicates how uncommon it is to obtain. This knife is Covert, with a 0.0085% drop chance from the Operation Riptide Case.

How much does ★ Butterfly Knife | Autotronic cost?

The live range is $597.61 to $1,943.91. These bounds cover the whole item; compare individual listings by exterior, float, and version.

Which exteriors are available for ★ Butterfly Knife | Autotronic?

It comes in Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, and Battle-Scarred. Its float range is 0.00 to 0.85.

Which cases contain ★ Butterfly Knife | Autotronic?

The Operation Riptide Case and Dreams & Nightmares Case contain this finish. Existing Riptide cases can still be bought and opened even though that case no longer drops.

Does ★ Butterfly Knife | Autotronic have StatTrak or Souvenir versions?

StatTrak versions are available alongside regular copies. There is no Souvenir version, and the version choice is separate from exterior condition.

Short Description

★ Butterfly Knife | Autotronic is a CS2 knife skin with red anodizing, a broad silver blade face, and steel mesh handle details. Its dark gray handles give the bright metal and red accents a restrained backdrop. The industrial styling suits players who prefer exposed metal and mechanical detail over illustrated finishes. It comes in every listed exterior, with regular and StatTrak™ versions available.

Description

★ Butterfly Knife | Autotronic brings the Autotronic Gunsmith finish to a balisong-style knife in CS2. Its blade combines a brushed-looking silver cutting surface with deep red borders along the spine and base. Dark gray handle sections carry elongated silver mesh panels, giving the design texture without covering it in graphics. The freely pivoting blade opens in a fan-like motion, making the weapon's mechanical design part of its visual character. This finish suits loadouts built around red accents, dark hardware, and exposed metallic surfaces. Its exterior selection runs from Factory New through Battle-Scarred, offering condition choices within the same underlying design. Regular and StatTrak versions give buyers another option to compare independently of exterior condition. When choosing a copy, the exact float, item image, exterior, and version are more useful than the finish name alone.

History and Origin

The finish was released on September 21, 2021, with the Operation Riptide Case in the Operation Riptide update. Valve created the design rather than a community designer. The Dreams & Nightmares Case provides another case-opening route to this Butterfly Knife finish. As of October 9, 2026, the Operation Riptide Case no longer drops. Valve retired the rare drop pool on December 17, 2025, ending new drops of that case. Existing Riptide cases can still be bought on the market and opened, so retirement did not remove that acquisition route. As of October 9, 2026, the Dreams & Nightmares Case remains in the Weekly Care Package drop pool, allowing new cases into circulation. Finished knives can also be bought through marketplaces or acquired through player trades without opening either case.

Finish Style

The Gunsmith finish combines metallic surfaces, red anodizing, and mesh details in an industrial-looking design. Deep red follows the blade's spine and wraps around its base, framing the broad silver cutting surface. The silver face has a brushed-looking texture, with a bright cutting edge separating it from the darker surrounding details. Both curved handle sections are dark gray, keeping the blade's red and silver areas visually distinct. Elongated silver mesh panels sit along the handle sides and provide the finish's most intricate texture. The steel mesh is a weight-saving design element as well as a visible part of the finish. Circular holes, silver pivot fasteners, and a small latch add mechanical detail without replacing the clean overall layout. Red accents near the blade joint connect the handle area to the blade's coloring, keeping the palette consistent across the knife.

Float Value

The Butterfly Knife | Autotronic has a float value range of 0.00 to 0.85. Available exteriors are Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, and Battle-Scarred. Regular and StatTrak versions are available, but there is no Souvenir version; this version choice is separate from the float-based exterior condition.

Rarity and Popularity

This is a Covert knife skin, with a 0.0085% drop chance from the Operation Riptide Case. Its professional owners include olofmeister, JT, and ztr, providing concrete examples of ownership without establishing broader demand. The finish is obtainable through its cases, marketplace purchases, and player trades, so its rarity does not make case opening the only acquisition route.

Why it’s Popular:

• Deep red borders contrast with the broad silver blade

• Steel mesh adds detail to the dark gray handles

• Fan-like opening highlights the butterfly knife's mechanical design

• Regular and StatTrak versions offer different ownership options

Price Range

The live CS2 skin price range is $597.61 to $1,943.91. These bounds cover the whole item and should not be treated as fixed prices for particular exteriors or versions. Compare Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, and Battle-Scarred listings according to the condition sought. Check the exact float and whether the knife is regular or StatTrak before comparing individual asking prices. Matching those details helps buyers distinguish a suitable listing from one that merely shares the same finish name.

How to Obtain

1. Buy Directly through Eneba Skins

One of the fastest and most straightforward options is to purchase skins directly through Eneba Skins. You can browse available CS2 skins, compare prices, and choose the items that best fit your budget.

2. Open a Weapon Case

Open an Operation Riptide Case or Dreams & Nightmares Case for a chance at this finish. Its drop chance from the Operation Riptide Case is 0.0085%, so opening a case does not assure this particular knife. Retired Riptide cases can still be bought and opened, while Dreams & Nightmares cases continue entering circulation through the weekly pool.

3. Buy on the Steam Community Market

The Steam Community Market offers a direct purchase route for the finished knife rather than a chance-based case opening. Compare the listed exterior and regular or StatTrak version before choosing an item. Check the specific copy's float and appearance instead of assuming every knife within an exterior category looks identical.

4. Trade with Other Players

Player-to-player trading is another route to acquiring a copy of the Autotronic. Confirm the exact item, exterior, float value, and version before agreeing to the exchange. Inspect the offered knife rather than relying on another listing's picture or treating the exterior label as a complete condition description.

Trading and Investment Considerations

Listings cover several exteriors and both regular and StatTrak versions, giving traders distinct item configurations to compare. Continued Dreams & Nightmares case supply means additional knives can still enter the market through openings, despite the retirement of Riptide case drops. Anyone planning to buy, sell, or trade should compare like-for-like copies, since professional ownership alone does not establish sustained demand or reliable resale speed.

Reasons it Holds Value

• Distinctive red-and-silver finish with steel mesh detailing

• Professional ownership by olofmeister, JT, and ztr

• Regular and StatTrak versions broaden buyer choice

• Full exterior selection accommodates different condition preferences

The editorial investment rating is medium, supported by professional ownership, distinctive styling, and a range of available versions. Retired Riptide case drops do not make the finish's supply finite because the Dreams & Nightmares Case remains in the weekly pool. Continuing supply and uncertain demand make future price appreciation unreliable, particularly for buyers relying on a quick resale.
