If you like MMORPG games, you might also like The Elder Scrolls Online which is being developed by ZeniMax Online Studios. The developers of the game and game’s publisher Bethesda Software shared some intriguing news regarding the future of The Elder Scrolls Online. Apparently, in the coming year, the game will get 4 separate DLC packs making up the 4-part expansion called Gates of Oblivion.

From what we gather, all the new content will be spread throughout the whole of 2021. The first one – Flames of Ambition – should be released on March 8th for PC and Google Stadia, and March 16th for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The second one – Blackwood – will land on June 1st for PC and Stadia, and on June 8th for consoles. The final two chapters of this 4-part DLC are being kept secret but the description over at the game’s site states that both should be revealed in Q3 and Q4 respectively.

Here’s a trailer:

The description of the new trailer also reveals some details about the setting. While we know the place of our adventures from The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion game, we’ll get to explore these lands in a different time period – 800 years before the event of the original Oblivion game.

“Fire and ambition come to Tamriel with The Elder Scrolls Online: Blackwood, part of the Gates of Oblivion year-long adventure. Explore the diverse region of Blackwood, gain powerful allies with the new Companions system, and uncover the terrible schemes of Mehrunes Dagon, Daedric Prince of Destruction, 800 years before the events of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion!”
