If you own a PlayStation console in your household – this article is definitely for you. Today, 25 years ago, the very first PlayStation device made its debut in Japan. On its very first day, the console sold more than 100,000 units! Furthermore, it became the very first home entertainment system to surpass the 100 million sold units benchmark worldwide! Precisely today, Sony PlayStation is celebrating its 25th Anniversary and You are invited to join!

In the official PlayStation blog post, the current President & CEO, Jim Ryan, noted his gratitude and appreciation towards the entire fanbase. The blog post delivers some historical facts about the company’s development, their outlook towards the gaming community, and game developers. In Jim Ryan words:

‘’We struck a chord with the gaming community because PlayStation offered experiences beyond what anyone could ever imagine was possible with a home console. From the very start, we opened our arms to developers, providing them with the tools and technology to create beautiful, expansive worlds, and to experiment with new ideas. That approach led to the diversity of games PlayStation is known for, a true hallmark for our brand across multiple generations of hardware platforms.’’

It’s a fact that PlayStation won’t let this occasion go unnoticed, and you can expect many great things coming all throughout the week. Sony is planning to launch a ‘’series of celebrations’’ across its social media platforms and blog, so we wholeheartedly want to inform you – follow what Sony is up to, it just might be one hell of a rewarding anniversary.
