India has always been forgotten by esports. This is due to the fact that only a handful of esports professionals originate from this country. However, ESL One – one of the major esports event series are organizing a pit stop in Mumbai, bringing premium Dota 2 action this April. The event will feature 300,000 dollars prize pool.

The event will host 12 prominent Dota 2 teams from across the globe. 7 teams will get direct invites, while 4 will have to battle through online qualifiers in different regions including Europe, North America, Greater China, and Southeast Asia. The last spot will be taken by the Indian team which will be selected during a local qualifier. ESL One Mumbai will be a great opportunity to see how Indian esports compares to the rest of the world.

The first premium Dota 2 event in India is organized in co-operation with NODWIN Gaming which previously has helped to organize DreamHack Mumbai, one of the first global esports events in the country. ESL One Mumbai 2019 will be hosted in NSCI Dome which has a capacity of 8,000 seats.
