While the internet community is still laughing at Halo Infinite graphics, the developers are trying to find some other ways to get players excited about the upcoming game. In a recent Tweet on the game’s Twitter, they announced that Halo Infinite’s multiplayer mode will be free to play. Not only that… The game will support 120FPS on Xbox Series X.

However, it’s worth mentioning that Halo Infinite developers didn’t detail whether you will still need an active Xbox Live Gold subscription in order to play the game online or not. Some rumors are spreading that Halo Infinite won’t require any subscription of any kind and it can become a new norm for all the Xbox Live games. Just recently, Microsoft ditched the Xbox Live 12 month subscription option. This sparked new speculation about Xbox Live’s future and if the service will remain as it is during the transition to the next generation. We’ll have to wait and see how it turns out.

There were other rumors regarding Halo Infinite’s multiplayer. According to a leak on one Japanese store listing, Halo Infinite may get a battle royale mode. While these leaks were not confirmed by the developers from 343 Industries, some genre fans are already celebrating.

You can laugh at Halo Infinite’s gameplay all you want, but releasing a game of this caliber and adding a free-to-play battle royale mode could be huge and might persuade some players to choose Xbox Series X instead of PlayStation 5.
