Like every year, fans of sports games are looking for new reasons to buy the next game in the series. Yesterday, EA Sports has revealed a bunch of news and detailed a couple of changes that you can expect to see in FIFA 20.

A new blog post on EA’s website which came out yesterday is dedicated to list and explain the changes coming to the beloved Pro Clubs (online) game mode. It includes a lot of fresh customization options for Virtual Pros, better broadcast presentation, new match types, a lot of new kits, and more.

Virtual Pros

FIFA 20 will introduce a new Avatar system which will replace player creator across the entire game including Pro Clubs. According to EA, the feature will bring new ways to design your Virtual Pros visual characteristics via an improved 4 quadrant axis morphing tool which allows players to morph and define each facial and body feature of their player.

In addition to visuals, players will be able to select one of the newly added positions for their avatars. In FIFA 20 players will be able to play as LF/RF, LM/RM, RWB/LWB positions. These newly added positions are also accompanied by a fresh player progression system within the game, where choosing between different positions, heights and weights will have a more significant impact on how the player moves and feels.

Broadcast

EA is also introducing some welcome changes to how broadcast works in FIFA 20. According to the company, the developers implemented broadcast features such as replay transition wipes, an on-screen watermark, club banners, and a new Pro Clubs logo. The club banners are influenced and defined by a team’s primary and secondary colors and show the name of the club in the stands. Stadiums that support banners will display both home and away club banners throughout the matches.

Match types

This year Pro Clubs will have two new modes players have requested to be available online for a long time: Practice Match and House Rules Cups. Practice Match will allow Pro Clubs to practice individually or as a team against AI on various difficulty levels. Players will be able to set AI tactics and train against a certain style of play. House Rules Cups is the same popular FIFA’s Kick-Off mode only in Pro Clubs, which will rotate match type each day.

Other changes

In addition to all of the new gameplay features, EA detailed some additional FIFA 20 Pro Clubs changes and bug fixes that should improve the overall experience of the game mode. Here’s a list:

  • ‘Any’ Stamina Bug – Stamina drained faster for the player controlling the ‘Any’ position
  • CB in wall – The game now places taller forwards and midfielders in the wall to defend against Free Kicks
  • GK Set Piece – Having a GK as captain will no longer affect game stability when your team has a set piece to take
  • Club Trophy Celebration – Clubs can now watch the full Cup Celebration when you win
