Last year, Assassin’s Creed co-creator Patrice Desilets announced his new project called Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey. After some time, finally, the new game got its release date which is set for August 27ths on PC. However, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners will have to wait until December.

In case you lived under a rock and managed to miss Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey, you’ll be pleased to know that it’s not your everyday survival game. In it, you’ll be playing as a primal ancestor of the human race. Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey is set approximately 8 million years before our era.

According to the developer, the game will explore the evolution of humanity while players will be tasked to survive the harsh environments of Africa. At first, you’ll be taking control of one ape-like character but will also be responsible for the entire clan. As time passes, you’ll learn new skills and evolve your clan skipping through numerous stages of evolution.

Interested? You should know that Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey will be first released as an Epic Games Store exclusive. However, the exclusivity deal is valid only for one year.
