Arcade Games

The origins for Arcade games can be traced way back to the times when you would actually have to go to a video game arcade in order to have a go at the newest titles. Even though the times are very different now and the games in question are usually played either on PC or Console, they have very much maintained their general feel and the unique look that cannot be mistaken with anything else in the gaming world, side-scrolling action, often low-resolution graphics and all!

While there is no strict guidelines to developing an arcade game, as it will be put in the genre just by being an action-packed side-scroller, it is unusual for such games to have a very thorough and diverse storyline, although not without exception. Some games manage to fit in a storyline to remember within the limits of an arcade game and it only adds to the experience. One thing you’re almost always guaranteed of though is a fast pace that will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout the duration of the game, even if it looks cartoony and chill at first glance! Arcade games have gone a long way from being played on a large machine in an actual arcade, however, their roots are still very prevalent in the genre and it really shows in all the best ways possible!
