BioWare is a major Canadian video game development company that has been captivating gamers with astonishing releases since February 1995. BioWare Games are oriented to role-playing fans across the globe and their Dragon Age and Mass Effect series proves it more than anything. Since 2007 the company is owned by Electronic Arts, however their base still stands in Edmonton. The Company’s founding fathers are known as the Three Doctors, Ray Muzyka, Greg Zeschuk, and Augustine Yip. BioWare games are also known for their in-house video game engines like Infinity Engine and Aurora Engine, which numerous other companies used to power-up their own games with. Once the company was bought by EA Games, it has been confirmed that the future video game releases will use EA’s Dice Frostbite 3 engine as an attempt to unify the technology used across all development studios. BioWare company has been admitted to a vast number of game awards, and even named as one of Alberta’s Top Employers in October 2008.
