        Top-notch entertainment requires quality sound for the best experience. Only then do most players truly notice the raw emotion of the voice acting, the atmospheric sound effects that bring the virtual worlds to life, and, most importantly, the soundtracks that elevate the action to new heights. Those that want to enjoy clear & high fidelity audio not only in games, but whilst watching movies or even video-chatting, usually choose to pair their Xbox 360 console with headphones or headsets. Here you can choose from a wide selection of wires or wireless Xbox 360 headphones, depending on what you find the most convenient & stylish!

        What headphones work with Xbox 360?

        Since Xbox 360 is a gaming and a home multimedia system in one, you can use various headphones and headsets for gaming, watching movies, while using streaming services, and for other uses. Microsoft themselves released headsets to enhance the overall experience for those who are looking for quality sound in their Xbox 360 accessories. Here’s a list of compatible audio devices:

        • Official Microsoft Xbox 360 Wired Headset – includes in-line volume control and a mute switch, a noise-cancelling microphone, and can be used for voice chat, both for games and private chats along with video chats;
        • Official Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Headset – includes in-line volume control and a mute switch, a noise-cancelling microphone, 2.4 GHz wifi technology, and a built-in rechargeable battery. It’s mainly used for voice chat, both for games and private chats along with video chats;
        • Official Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Headset with Bluetooth – a redesigned model of the original Wireless Headset, this version features Bluetooth which allows to connect it to computers, mobile phones and even the PlayStation 3 console;
        • Certain wireless headphones with a base station – a few companies, like Turtle Beach, sell headsets with base stations. You can plug an optical cable into these and transmit sound wirelessly to the headphone.

        Note: the 2.5 mm headphone jack in Xbox 360 controllers is strictly used for voice communication. All game sounds are played via the display device – if your monitor or the TV has an audio jack, you can plug in wired headsets and listen to sounds that way. Xbox 360 does not support Bluetooth, so wireless headphones not created specifically for this console will not work.

        Connecting headphones to the Xbox 360

        The Xbox 360 Wired Headset needs to be plugged into the controller. Keep in mind that you will only hear voice chat audio and all game sounds will still be transmitted via the TV. If you want to use regular headphones with the console to hear game audio, you can plug the cable into your TV or monitor’s headphone jack if they have one. Follow these instructions to connect the Wireless Headset to the system:

        • •Plug the charging cable into the headphones;
        • •Connect the other end to Xbox 360’s USB port;
        • •Press the Connect button on the console;
        • •Press and hold the Connect button on the headphones;
        • •When connected, a light on the audio device will indicate which Xbox 360 controller it connected to.

        If you want to connect the Wireless Headset with Bluetooth wirelessly, follow these instructions:

        • •Update your Xbox 360 system;
        • •Toggle the switch on the side of the headset until the green color is displayed;
        • •Hold the Power button for 2 seconds until the green light flashes;
        • •Once the audio device turns on, hold the headset’s Connect button for 2 seconds;
        • •Press and release Xbox 360’s Connect button within 20 seconds;
        • •Once the headset connects, its lights will flash 3 times.
