In our video game inspired movies list, we’ve introduced a lot of movies that deserve your attention, that is, if you’re looking for something to watch rather than play. On this list, we’ve mentioned a new Tomb Raider movie which was released in 2018. New information points that we might get a sequel.

Regardless of what you’ve thought about the first movie, Tomb Raider 2 seems inevitable according to the report by Deadline. Tomb Raider 2 production has already hired Amy Jump to write a script for the sequel which is good news if you’re familiar with her previous work. Amy Jump was a writer on Free Fire, Kill List, High-Rise, A Field in England, and Sightseers.

The report also states that Alicia Vikander liked what she read in the new script and will return to her role as Lara Croft. Furthermore, GK Films made their return as a production company after a successful run with Bohemian Rhapsody.

Tomb Raider video game series are probably amongst the few most popular when it comes to the big screen. In the 2000s, three big-budget motion pictures with Angelina Jolie were released. In 2018, the series was rebooted alongside the new game trilogy and while the movie itself was bashed over for its shortcomings, it still grossed over 270 million dollars worldwide.
