In case you haven’t heard, Remedy Entertainment is currently working on a new version of their popular action game Control which was supposed to be released on the next-generation consoles by the end of the year. However, this game also became a victim of the pandemic and was rescheduled. The developers announced that Control Ultimate Edition will be released on next-generation platforms in early 2021.

The new Control Ultimate Edition for Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 is expected to be on par if not better than the PC version of the game, capable of running in 4K resolution, 60 frames per second. It should also feature ray tracing and other neat things that were not apparent in the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions.

It’s also worth noting that players who already own Control Ultimate Edition on PS4 or Xbox One will be able to upgrade their game to the next generation version for free. However, if you bought the core game and later purchased its DLC separately, you will have to repurchase Control on the next-generation consoles. It’s a weird decision by Remedy Entertainment and most fans are not happy about it.

In any case, there’s still some time for developers to change their minds about their next-generation console release plans. And if you don’t want to wait, be sure to check out our offers on the PC version of the game.
